Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky Anime’s 2nd Video Reveals Musical Composer, Ending Song, July 6 Debut – News

The staff for the television anime of Nanigashi Shima and raemz‘s Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky (Tōmei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita) novel revealed on Thursday the anime’s second full promotional video and July 6 premiere. The video reveals and previews the ending theme song “Hikari” (Light) by FRUITS ZIPPER idol group member Yui Sakurai. The anime’s staff also announced that Harumi Fuuki (Lonely Castle in the Mirror, The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes films, Forest of Piano two seasons) is composing the music for the series.

The anime will premiere with standard audio on AT-X on July 6 at 9:00 p.m. JST, and the “barrier-free” audio description version for blind and visually impaired will run at 28:00 JST (effectively July 7 at 4:00 a.m. JST). The anime will also premiere on July 6 on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. JST, and on MBS at 26:45 JST (effectively July 7 at 2:45 a.m. JST).

Shochiku describes the anime:

One spring night, Kakeru Sorano, a university freshman, is dragged by his dormmate Narumi to a welcome party. There, he meets Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl who laughs often and speaks of her dreams; she’s practically the polar opposite of him.
From the moment he picks up her white cane after class, the distance between them begins to shrink. “I want to see fireworks,” she says one day. Those words carry a light that Kakeru gazes at directly for the first time.
A girl who cannot see and a boy who has shut himself off—this is a delicate love story woven by two people searching for light.

The anime stars:

Miyu Irino as Kakeru Sorano, a shy college freshman who avoids social interaction
Saori Hayami as Koharu Fuyutsuki, a blind girl who remains upbeat and positive no matter the challenge.
Konomi Kohara as Yūko Hayase, meets Koharu at the entrance ceremony and quickly becomes close to her.

Joe Yoshizaki (The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows, Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- second season) is directing the anime at MAKARIA. Yūko Kakihara (Aikatsu Stars!, Blue Box, 2022 & 2024 Urusei Yatsura) is in charge of series scripts, and Yoshihiro Sawada (The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows) and Yūzuki Ishii are designing the characters.

The novel also inspired a live-action series that premiered on December 11 on MBS‘ Drama Tokku programming block, as well as on tvk, Chiba TV, and TV Saitama.

Shima released the novel in August 2023, with illustrations by raemz. Yen Press released the novel in English in January 2025. Shima released a sequel novel titled Gokusai no Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita (Love Unseen Beneath a Colorful Night Sky) in August 2024. hat. launched a manga adaptation of the first novel on Square Enix‘s Manga UP! website in August 2024. Square Enix published the manga’s first volume in July 2025.

The novel ranked #3 in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 guidebook’s overall category, and it won the grand prize in the 15th GA Bunko Prize competition.

Shima and raemz have also worked together on the Yoru ga Aketara Asa ga Kuru novel, which released in August 2024, as well as a spinoff novel to that titled Asa ga Kuru Made Yoru wa Matsu, which released in March 2025.

Live-Action Blue Lock Film Confirms 3 More Cast Members – News

The staff for the live-action film based on Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura‘s BLUE LOCK soccer manga confirmed three more cast members on Monday. The film’s staff also announced that the film will screen in MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema starting on August 21. Additionally, cheering screenings (in which audiences are allowed to shout at and interact with the film) will be held at five participating theaters in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

The newly announced cast members are:

The cast includes:

Yūsuke Taki is directing the film, and Tetsuo Kamata is writing the screenplay. Shinzō Matsuhashi is serving as a producer. CREDEUS (live-action Golden Kamuy film) is producing the film, and TOHO is distributing.

The film opened in Japan on August 7.

Kaneshiro and Nomura launched the manga in Kodansha‘s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018. Kodansha will publish the manga’s 40th compiled book volume on August 17. The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga award in Kodansha‘s 45th annual Manga Awards in 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English digitally and is also releasing it in print.

The original manga inspired a television anime series that premiered in Japan in October 2022 on TV Asahi and its affiliates in the NUMAnimation programming block. The anime ran for 24 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and is also streaming an English dub.

BLUE LOCK vs. U-20 JAPAN, the second television anime season, debuted in October 2024, and aired for 14 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.

The anime is getting a third season, adapting the “Shin Eiyū Taisen” (New Hero Wars) story.

Kōta Sannomiya‘s BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- manga spinoff focuses on Seishirō Nagi before he enters the titular BLUE LOCK facility. The manga launched in June 2022 in Kodansha‘s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine and ended in July 2025. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the spinoff manga in print.

The spinoff inspired an anime film that premiered in Japan in April 2024. The film sold 337,000 tickets to earn 463 million yen (about US$2.99 million) in its first three days, and ranked at #2 in the Japanese box office in its opening weekend. The film opened in North America in June 2024. Crunchyroll is streaming the film with subtitles and with several dubs.

Shiori Teshirogi draws art for Fushigiri Muichi manga, with story by younger brother Shōtarō Teshirogi

The September issue of Akita Shoten‘s Mystery Bonita magazine announced on August 6 that manga creator Shiori Teshirogi and her younger brother and novelist Shōtarō Teshirogi will launch a four-chapter manga miniseries titled Fushigiri Muichi (Muichi the Slayer of Immortals) in the magazine’s next issue on September 4. Shiori Teshirogi is drawing the art, and Shōtarō Teshirogi is writing the story.

The manga is set during the early Meiji Period, and centers on the titular Tamahashi Muichi, once a secret lawman of the late Shogunate government, and who has now traded his sword for a painter’s brush. That is, until he receives word of the activities of the Restoration agitator Sakamoto Ryōma, who is supposed to be dead.

The Teshirogi siblings previously published a two-chapter manga with the same title and story in Akita Shoten‘s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in October 2021.

Shiori Teshirogi launched the Batman and the Justice League manga in Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED magazine in June 2017, and ended it in May 2019. Akita Shoten published four compiled book volumes for the manga. Teshirogi also published the “Justice League Origin: Wonder Woman” one-shot manga in July 2017.

Teshirogi’s Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas – Meiō Shinwa manga ran from 2006 to 2011, and inspired two OVA series that totaled 26 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series, and Discotek released the series on DVD in November 2015. Teshirogi launched the Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas – Meiō Shinwa Gaiden manga in 2011, and ended it in April 2016.

Shōtarō Teshirogi wrote the Kou-Tetsujo Iron Castle novel, the second part an original manga and novel project in collaboration with Anima, with designs by Yasuo Ohtagaki (Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, Moonlight Mile). The novel shipped in March 2021.

The official website for the television anime of Nao Iwamoto‘s Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi (The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom) manga unveiled on Monday the anime’s first promotional video, main visual, cast members, and October 3 premiere.

The anime will star:

Kengo Takanashi as Nemukunai (Insomniac), the eldest of the seven brothers

The anime will premeire on October 3 on the NHK Educational channel at 6:25 p.m. JST (5:25 a.m. EDT).

The fantasy romance manga centers on seven brothers who are knights of the Marronnier Kingdom. The kingdom lies in the center of a group of eight kingdoms, and each brother is dispatched to a different kingdom as ambassadors, to go on an adventure to find their fated partner. The brothers are named: Nemukunai (Not Sleepy), Hakuai (Benevolent), Atsugariya (Sensitive to Heat), Samugariya (Sensitive to Cold), Kemono Tsukai (Beast Tamer), Tsurugi Jiman (Sword Pride), and Harapeko (Hungry).

Kiyoko Sayama (Skip Beat!, Vampire Knight, To Your Eternity seasons 2-3) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Shinzō Fujita (To Your Eternity seasons 1-3, The World Is Still Beautiful) is both writing and overseeing the series scripts. Yuriko Maeda (chief animation director for Requiem of the Rose King, One Punch Man TV 2) is designing the characters, Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Apocalypse Hotel, Land of the Lustrous, Love Live! School idol project) is composing the music, and Jin Aketagawa (Dr. Stone, Fire Force) is the sound director.

The manga launched in Shogakukan‘s Flowers magazine in 2016. Shogakukan shipped the 11th volume on June 10. The manga topped the list of manga for female readers in the 2018 edition of Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.

Iwamoto’s Kingdom of Gold, Kingdom of Water manga inspired the Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom anime film that opened in January 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment released the original manga in English.
