@detarameMAL @HidingHere Honestly, I don’t understand why you’re directly linking this to Kaguya-hime, when it looks more like a continuation of the cult shoujo remakes after the success of Rose of Versailles last year. The original Japanese official announcement also seems to call it an adaptation rather than the original film. As well as official cite.

@Catalano If it doesn’t deviate too much from the original manga, then despite the premise, it will be much more straight than you might imagine. In fact, only one short-lived attempt at a manga remake has been more or less directly queer so far.

Light Novel ‘Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki’ Gets TV Anime

Production company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yasukiyo Kotobuki‘s Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki (The Diary of a Middle-Aged Sage’s Carefree Life in Another World) light novel on Wednesday, revealing the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured).

Kotobuki began penning the adventure fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2016. Kadokawa began publishing the novel under its MF Books imprint in September 2016, featuring illustrations by Johndee. The 20th volume was published in February 2025, with the 21st volume scheduled for an April 24 release. Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki has a cumulative 4.15 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

A spin-off light novel titled Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki Zero: Sword and Sorcery World began publishing under the same imprint in August 2023. The third volume was released in August 2025.

888 began drawing a manga adaptation on the ComicWalker website in April 2018. Kadokawa published the eighth volume in February 2025.

Maneki began serializing a second manga adaptation, titled Around 40 Kenja no Isekai Seikatsu Nikki: Kimama na Isekai Kyoushi Life, on the Manga UP! platform in October 2018. Square Enix published the 17th volume on January 7.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel for digital release in English in September 2023 and published the ninth volume on March 11, with the tenth volume scheduled for a June 17 release.

Synopsis

‘Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou’ Reveals Main Cast, Staff, Teaser Promo for 2027 Premiere

Production company Aniplex opened an official website for the previously announced television anime adaptation of En Mikami‘s Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou (The Case Files of Biblia Bookstore) novel on Wednesday, revealing the main cast, staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

Voice actors Riko Akechi (Ponkotsu Fuuki Iin to Skirt-take ga Futekisetsu na JK no Hanashi) and Shunsuke Takeuchi (Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi) are starring as Shioriko Shinokawa and Daisuke Goura, respectively.

Mikami began penning the mystery drama novel with illustrations by Hagu Koshijima under the Media Works Bunko label in March 2011. Kadokawa (formerly ASCII Media Works) published the 11th volume in March 2024, with the 12th volume planned for an April 24 release. The novel has a cumulative 8.5 million copies in circulation.

Nakano originally began a manga adaptation in Altima Ace in February 2012, which later moved to Monthly Asuka in December 2012 until it concluded in July 2014. Kadokawa published the sixth and final volume in September that year.

Ryou Kouda serialized a second manga adaptation in good! Afternoon from July 2012 to September 2013. Kodansha published the third and final volume in January 2014.

Haruki Niwa began a manga adaptation of the tenth novel volume, subtitled Tobirako to Utsuro na Yume, in Young Ace UP! in February 2024. Kadokawa published the third volume in November 2025.

A live-action drama adaptation aired on Fuji TV in 11 episodes from January to March 2013.

Synopsis

‘Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori’ Announces More Cast

The official website of the Sora wa Akai Kawa no Hotori (Red River) television anime revealed more cast on Thursday. The anime series adapting Chie Shinohara‘s adventure fantasy manga will air on NTV and BS NTV beginning in July 2026.

Kousuke Kobayashi (Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria) is helming the anime at Tatsunoko Production. Yoriko Tomita (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) is handling the series composition and Kenji Fujisaki (Blood Lad) is designing the characters. Yoshihisa Hirano (Hunter x Hunter (2011)) is composing the music.

Shinohara serialized the manga in Sho-Comi from January 1995 to January 2002. Shogakukan published the 28th and final volume in July 2002. The manga has a cumulative 20 million copies of its volumes in circulation, including digital editions.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2004 and published all 28 volumes from June 2004 to January 2010.
