Sword Art Online’s Echoes of Aincrad Game Previews ‘Unanswered//butterfly’ Bonus Anime – News
Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a new trailer for Echoes of Aincrad, the new action RPG based on Reki Kawahara‘s Sword Art Online franchise, on Monday. The trailer previews the game’s bundled “Unanswered//butterfly” bonus special promotional anime. The company also previewed the theme song “Live to Survive” by Aimer in a separate television commercial.

The special promotional anime is included with the Ultimate and Premium Editions of the game and follows other characters during the events of the original Sword Art Online story.

The game will launch in Japan on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 9, and on PC via Steam on July 10. In the West, it will launch on all these platforms on July 10.
The game will have a Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Aincrad Edition release. The Deluxe Edition includes the expansion DLC and a starter item pack, as well as early access to the game’s “Death Game” mode, a mode where the game deletes your save on character death, and is normally available only after beating the game for the first time. The Ultimate Edition includes the Deluxe Edition content, and adds the “Unanswered//butterfly” bonus content app/special anime, digital soundtrack, digital artbook, and an in-game armor pack. The Aincrad Edition is exclusive to the Bandai Namco Store, and includes the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition content, adding a beanie, wall scroll, patches, and sticker pack.
The game is set in the world of Aincrad, the setting of the original story’s eponymous in-story virtual MMO Sword Art Online. In Echoes of Aincrad, players explore Aincrad as one of the 10,000 players trapped in the MMO-turned-death game, and explore the world alongside other characters, including Kirito and Asuna.
Reki Kawahara began the Sword Art Online web novel in 2001, and serialized it from 2002 to 2008 on his website. Kadokawa‘s Dengeki Bunko label began publishing a newly-edited print version in 2009, ending the original story with the “Alicization” arc as Kawahara had wrote it in his website with the 18th volume in 2016. The novel series returned with an all-new “Moon Cradle” story arc in 2017, and another all-new “Unital Ring” story arc in 2018, and is now in its 28th overall volume. The series has inspired novel and manga spinoffs, a television anime adaptation with several seasons, an anime film, and proposed live-action series. Kawahara’s Sword Art Online: Progressive spinoff novel series inspired two anime films of its own.

WWWave Corporation‘s anime streaming platform OceanVeil announced on Monday that the English dub of the television anime of Okumaro‘s Now That I Can Control Reality With A Mouse Cursor, I’m Gonna Click Away On The Girls! (Mouse Cursor de Genjitsu o Sōsa Dekiru Yō ni Natta node, Onna no Ko o Ippai Click Shima~su, or Click Me All Over) manga will debut on the service on October 4 alongside the Japanese television premiere.

The anime is part of the AnimeFesta programming block in Japan. The anime will debut on television in Japan on October 4 at 25:00 (effectively October 5 at 1:00 a.m.) on Tokyo MX and BS11. The anime began streaming in Japan earlier on AnimeFesta starting on September 11. OceanVeil also began streaming the anime on the same day.

Takumi, an ordinary otaku, is sitting in IT class when he notices something impossible: his computer mouse cursor has sprung right out of the screen and into the real world! Panicked, he asks his bossy childhood friend Mone if she can see it, but she just brushes him off. Realizing the cursor is completely invisible to others and under his control, Takumi decides to test it out by slipping it between the gaps in Mone’s clothes and clicking away!
As Mone writhes from the unfamiliar sensation, Takumi uncovers a floating real-life context menu featuring incredible controls like “Cut”, “Paste”, “Double Sensitivity Mode”, and even “The Real Deal” (if he can earn enough Click Points!). But keeping his new powers a secret isn’t easy. Between accidental wardrobe malfunctions caused by ‘Cut’, mysterious classmates pursuing him, and art club presidents who might actually see the cursor, Takumi’s clicking spree is about to set off a wild, slapstick chain reaction!
Kazuya Nakamura is the anime’s planning and executive producer, Reiga Goto is the producer, Studio Hōkiboshi is producing the anime, and Suiseisha is credited for production. Makoto Sokuza is the director, Eeyo Kurosaki is overseeing the series scripts, Minakawa Akapiv is the character designer, and Harimasu is the chief animation director.

Okumaro began serializing the manga on the ComicFesta service in March 2024, and Suiseisha published the manga’s fourth volume on September 18. Coolmic is publishing the manga in English under the title Click Me All Over.

Alpa launched a new series titled Slap Shot Girls on Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump+ platform on Tuesday. MANGA Plus began releasing it in English at the same time on Monday
The story follows Kurumi Kobashiri, who moves to Hokkaido after middle school due to her parents’ circumstances. Her boyfriend chooses to break up with her rather than enter a long-distance relationship, and Kurumi is heartbroken. She finds herself wandering into a skating rink where she discovers a hot man and hockey.
Alpa ended the Ankoku Delta manga in January 2025. Alpa launched the series on the Shonen Jump+ platform in March 2024. MANGA Plus publishes the series digitally in English. hueisha shipped the fifth compiled book volume in April 2025.

Titan Manga revealed on Tuesday that it will ship its English 3-in-1 omnibus edition of Eiji Hashimoto and Shinya Umemura‘s Chiruran: Shinsengumi Requiem (Chiruran: Shinsengumi Chinkon-ka) manga on January 26, 2027. The company also unveiled the cover (pictured right):

Before he became the legendary Vice Commander of the feared Shinsengumi, Hijikata Toshizou was a reckless young swordsman determined to carve out his place in a nation on the brink of collapse. As political unrest tears Japan apart and violence erupts in the streets of Kyoto, Toshizou and his comrades will forge The Shinsen-gumi, the ruthless “Mibu Wolves”, a band of warriors sworn to restore order at any cost.
Hashimoto teased in January new content for the series, but did not clarify whether it was a new chapter or story for the manga.
Umemura provided the story, and Hashimoto illustrated the manga. The duo launched the series in the inaugural issue of Tokuma Shoten‘s Monthly Comic Zenon magazine in 2010. The manga began its final arc with the 32nd volume in January 2022, and ended in April 2023. Mangamo is also releasing the manga in English digitally under the title The Shinsen-gumi.
The manga inspired a stage play adaptation that ran in April 2017.
The manga’s live-action series adaptation aired on the TBS channel in spring as a special, and also streams on the U-NEXT service as a series.
Umemura and Hashimoto launched a comedy spinoff manga titled Chiruran Nibun no Ichi in Monthly Comic Zenon in May 2016. The spinoff manga received an anime series of shorts that premiered in January 2017. Crunchyroll streamed the series under the title Chiruran 1/2 as it aired.
