Wednesday’s post stated that due to scheduling issues on the side of Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and due to Mashima speeding through the new miniseries’ draft at a pace far ahead of the editors’ expectations, the staff has decided to launch the manga earlier.
Mashima and Weekly Shōnen Magazine had initially announced that the new manga miniseries would launch on August 5. The miniseries celebrates the Fairy Tail manga’s 20th anniversary.
The original manga series follows the adventures of the world’s most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. The manga launched in 2006, and ended in July 2017.
The manga has inspired four television anime, two anime films, several original video anime projects, and spinoff manga. Kodansha USA Publishing releases the original manga and a number of its spinoffs in English.
Mashima and Atsuo Ueda‘s Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel manga inspired a television anime that premiered in July 2024.
Ginolabo’s Fairy Tail: Dungeons game launched for Nintendo Switch on January 7. The game then launched for PC via Steam in August 2024.

Marvel, Kadokawa Unveil More Art, Story Details for Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen Manga – News
Kadokawa unveiled more details about its partnership with Marvel Comics on Wednesday, including more concept art and some story details for their upcoming Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen manga.
Tokitokoro (Jeff the Land Shark) is working on Spider-Man. News outlet Bleeding Cool reported in July that the work would be titled Spider-Man of Shibuya, although Kadokawa said on Wednesday that the Japanese title is still to be determined. The story centers on Haruto Hachidori, a high schooler in Shibuya who suddenly gains the powers of a spider. Now he swings freely through the skyline of Shibuya, not knowing that a dark presence lurks beneath the city.

Ryūsei Yamada (Revenger manga adaptation, Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Manga—Anthology) is working on Spider-Gwen (whose manga’s Japanese title is to be determined). The story follows Gwen Stacy, a normal high schooler and drummer in the band “Mary Janes.” One day, she is bitten by a radioactive spider, giving her superhuman powers. She chooses to protect the city using her powers under the alter-ego of Spider-Woman, but tough choices and conflicts await her.

Kadokawa also revealed the below concept art for Daredevil and Punisher.

The works will debut in Kadokawa‘s KadoComi service before the end of the year. Bleeding Cool stated in July that the collaboration will include “five original manga volumes,” and Kadokawa specified on Wednesday that the lineup will have five different titles.
Shueisha announced on July 1 that its contract with Walt Disney Japan to publish manga adaptations of Marvel Comics characters would end on September 30. Shueisha began removing five manga titles — Marvel x Shonen Jump+ Super Collaboration, Secret Reverse, Spider-Man: Octo-Girl, Spider-Man: Kizuna, and Deadpool: Samurai — from digital storefronts gradually from September 28 to 30, and is ceasing the sales of the same manga titles in physical print volumes. All five of these manga have ended their serializations.
Sho-Pro Books’ (Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions) contract to publish Marvel Comics titles in Japanese ended this year on March 31.
Marvel Comics had announced on July 16 that Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski would move on from the EiC role and become the editor of “Asia Originals” for Marvel. Veteran editor Stephen Wacker is the new Editor-in-Chief.

Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi Manga Ends on October 28 – News

The November issue of Ichijinsha‘s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine announced on Monday that Anko Chōchin’s Kuri Hime Ayakashi Yobanashi, the manga adaptation of Hyuganatsu‘s novel series of the same title, will end in the magazine’s next issue on October 28.
The story centers on Kinuko, a part-time college lecturer teaching weaving and Japanese studies, who lives in a weaver’s hut in the grounds of a shrine called Tamamayu Shrine. Though her accomodations are irregular, she is well taken care of, as a rich family takes care of the shrine, and young children named Shiro and Kuro always bring her good food. But one day, she begins to realize that there might be something supernatural living alongside her.
Chōchin launched the manga adaptation in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum in December 2024. Ichijinsha published the manga’s first compiled book volume in July 2025, and the second volume on April 30.
Hyuganatsu first published the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website titled Otsukaresan Desu, Gokurō Sama, but later took the story down after MyNavi Publishing released the first print version of the story in November 2016. Munashitsu drew the illustrations. Hyūga later reuploaded the original story on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in November 2017 with agreement from the publisher. Hyūga later released a new volume for the story in May 2018.
Hyuganatsu began serializing The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) light novel series on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website in October 2011. Shufunotomo began publishing the novels in print volume with illustrations by Touko Shino in August 2014. The novels have inspired a manga and an anime adaptation. The anime adaptation’s third season will debut on October 2.
Hyuganatsu and artist Modomu Akagawara‘s The Failure at God School (Kami-sama Gakkō no Ochikobore) manga is also getting a television anime.
