Kevin Feige Says Adam Driver Passing on Marvel Roles Is a ‘Tradition’
It seems Kevin Feige has gotten used to Adam Driver telling him no.
During a recent interview with Happy Sad Confused podcast host Josh Horowitz, the Marvel Studios president revealed that Driver has turned down joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe so many times that it has become a “tradition.”
“It’s no secret we’d like to [work with Driver],” Feige said. “But it’s a tradition to Zoom with him and then he passes. That’s a long-lived tradition. He couldn’t be more cordial. He is usually upfront about how he is feeling.”
The Marvel boss didn’t reveal which roles he’s pitched to Driver; however, rumors have been circulating on social media about the actor potentially boarding the big-screen reboot of the X-Men that’s currently in development. Marvel has yet to confirm any casting for the film, but The Hollywood Reporter reported last year that Jake Schreier was in talks to direct.
Though Driver has never shared why he keeps turning down opportunities to join the MCU, it likely wouldn’t be because they’re blockbuster films, as he’s had his fair share in those. Most notably, he played Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, including The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017) and The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
In addition to other high-profile pics such as House of Gucci (2021), Ferrari (2023) and Megalopolis (2024), Driver likes to have a nice balance when it comes to his filmography, starring in plenty of indie films as well, including Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Paterson (2016), Marriage Story (2019) and the upcoming Paper Tiger.
Though Driver has no plans as of now to join the MCU, no matter how hard Feige tries, the actor is interested in stepping back into another blockbuster franchise: Star Wars. He had been working on a standalone Kylo Ren movie with director Steven Soderbergh, but Disney axed the film, despite it having Lucasfilm’s support.

Percy Jackson is departing on yet another world-altering adventure this fall.
The third season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians will debut on November 20, 2026, it was revealed during the show’s buzzy San Diego Comic-Con panel Thursday morning.
To kick off the con, Percy Jackson fans inside Hall H were treated to the first few minutes of footage from Season 3. The scene opened with a cloaked figure trudging through dark city streets as ominous holiday tunes emanate from the surrounding businesses. The figure makes its way to a parking garage and removes its hood, revealing that it’s actually Thalia (Tamera Smart) — and she’s looking for Luke (Charlie Bushnell).
She confronts a monster inside the parking garage, pressuring it to tell her about her former best friend’s location, and the fight is not going her way… until Percy (Walker Scobell) shows up. He helps her defeat the monster, much to her chagrin, only to find out that’s it Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) who sent him. She’s there, too, and she tries to convince Thalia to join them on their mission to collect Bianca (Olive Abercrombie) and Nico Di Angelo (Levi Chrisopulos), children of Hades, from their military boarding school.
These two are quite important and anticipated characters who will change the frame of the tension between Percy and Thalia as children of two of the big three gods. They are children of Hades, Kronos’ third and final son. Abercrombie and Chrisopulos took the stage for their very first SDCC in honor of their long-awaited Season 3 arrival.
Back to the clip, Thalia isn’t having it and peels away in a stolen car before the pair can convince her otherwise. Or, really just Annabeth, because Percy makes his disdain for Thalia pretty clear in their brief interaction.
On that note, Smart spoke onstage about how audiences will finally truly get to know Thalia and understand the tension between her and Percy in Season 3 after getting just a glimpse of her at the end of the second season.
“The one thing for me that I really thought about is ‘Yes, I was so excited to be in Season 2’ but Thalia hasn’t been established as a character yet,” Smart said. “For me it was building on what Rick [Riordan] created and wrote. So it was building on that and as you all say, some ‘generational beef’ [between Thalia’s father Zeus and Percy’s father Poseidon.] She’s so layered this season so it was a lot of work into her past.”

Jeffries was absent from the panel discussion because she is filming the next-generation Cheetah Girls movie, but she filmed a special video message for the crowd to introduce the clip. Scobell, who was in attendance, also made sure she was represented inside the convention center, bringing a photo of her to the stage with him.
Executive producer Dan Shotz, who was on the panel, also teased that viewers can expect more of Annabeth in Season 3 than they got in the book it is based on, Rick Riordan’s The Titan’s Curse.
“Annabeth is separated from the group,” Shotz said. “We are gonna open up the world and explore where Annabeth is and give a new look into that. It’s been nice to expand on that.”
Shotz also told the audience that the cast was “pushed to the limit” with the darker, deeper stakes for Season 3, adding: “The things we have thrown at them, the emotional depth – these guys, every day, delivered on that.”
In addition to Shotz, EP Craig Silverstein was also on the panel. When asked whether he could confirm Scobell’s previous remarks that Season 3 is the most “book accurate” thus far, he remained coy (as did Shotz), but he did reveal that there are many long-awaited surprises in store for readers.
“You’re going to go to some places that you’ve been waiting to see for a long time,” he said.
Season 3 of Percy Jackson will be the first adaptation of the third book in Riordan’s series, as the previous film adaptations ended with Sea of Monsters, adding another level of anticipation (and anxiety) around how the creative team will bring this pivotal story to life. With The Titan’s Curse, the series starts to become a bit darker and more mature as Percy and his friends become more entangled in the war between the gods.
There is plenty to come, making it hard to choose which scene the Percy team is most excited for fans to see. Naturally, the junkyard scene was a big contender (if you know, you know), which we now know will be in Episode 4.
Added Shotz: “I’m excited for everyone to see the Hunters [of Artemis]. It is time. There was a little sneak peak put out of their costumes and what they look like. That took so much incredible work from our costume and makeup [crew] to make them look so awesome and badass. I can’t wait for you to see them and how they work together.”
For his own favorite moment, Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover, joked: “The Hoover Dam… it was pretty dam good.”

EXCLUSIVE: Artists Equity has partnered with Hidden Content, UltraBoom Media and Robert Pattinson’s Icki Eneo Arlo to produce the documentary Shot in the Dark. The feature follows the first U.S. Paralympic Blind Soccer team from their historic roots in 2022 to their attempt to shock the world and win gold at the 2028 Paralympic Games. The film is being co-directed by Jay Shapiro and Adam Donald.
“What drew us to Shot in the Dark was not only our absolute awe of the sport, but the extraordinary athletes themselves. The skill, trust, and courage it takes to compete at this level is something most of us can barely imagine,” said Damon, Chief Creative Officer of Artists Equity. “Telling stories like this is exactly why Artists Equity exists, and we’re thrilled to partner with UltraBoom, Hidden Content, and Icki Eneo Arlo to bring it to the screen.”
Hidden Content has been filming with the team since its formation, first ever tryouts in late 2022 with cooperation from the team’s governing organization, the United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA).
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to follow a team from day one tryouts for almost six years to the biggest stage imaginable,” said Hidden Content’s Gentile. “You see them all grow as players, a team, and as individuals on and off the field.”
Hidden Content’s Donald, Ant Gentile, and Jake Wasserman are producing alongside Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Kyle Wheeler of Artists Equity, UltraBoom Media’s Erik Osterholm, Michael Simkin, Carrie Kaylor, and Zach Kazin, and Pattinson and Brighton McCloskey from Icki Eneo Arlo.
“The practices and games are so exciting to watch. Seeing these players in action captures the undeniable thrill of athletic competition alongside a truly triumphant determination of will, reiterating the more beautiful traits of human striving,” said Pattinson.
Blind soccer is an electrifying five vs. five game in which four blind players and a sighted goalkeeper rely on instinct, trust, and sound. The ball itself rattles as it moves, while sideline guides and keepers call out real-time strategy. Matches unfold in near-total silence, the crowd holding its breath so players can track every chime until a goal shatters the stillness. Against this charged backdrop, the film follows a team pushing through grueling training camps and high-stakes international tournaments, fighting to climb the world rankings. Off the field, their lives are just as dynamic: some are becoming fathers, others are navigating personal hardships, and all are redefining what it means to represent the United States as Paralympic athletes.
“From the moment we heard about this team and the players, we knew this was one of those rare sports stories that transcends wins and losses and exemplifies the human spirit,” said UltraBoom Media’s Osterholm. “This team’s journey has the power to connect with audiences, whether you’re an avid sports fan or not.”
