Manga ‘Shin Tennis no Oujisama’ Concludes 27-Year Serialization
Takeshi Konomi‘s Shin Tennis no Oujisama (The Prince of Tennis II) manga concluded in the September 2026 issue of Jump SQ. on Tuesday, marking the end of its nearly 27-year serialization.
Konomi began serializing the sequel sports manga in Jump SQ. in March 2009. Shueisha published the 47th volume on June 4. The 48th and final volume is scheduled to be released on September 4.
The original sports manga ran in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1998 and 2008 and was compiled into 42 volumes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2004 and published all 42 volumes between May 2004 and July 2011.
The first anime season adapting the original manga debuted in Fall 2001, followed by several original video anime, and two anime movies in 2005 and 2011.
A television anime by Production I.G and M.S.C adapting the sequel manga aired in Winter 2012. The Shin Tennis no Oujisama vs Genius 10 (The Prince of Tennis II vs Genius10) ten-episode OVA was released from October 2014 to June 2015.
The Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup (The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup) sequel anime aired in Summer 2022, followed by Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup Semifinal (The Prince of Tennis II U-17 World Cup Semifinal) in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the anime series with subtitles and an English dub.
The Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 World Cup Kesshou Member Ketteisen sequel television anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2026.
