A new official website opened on Monday to announce the television anime of Aito Aoyagi‘s Akazukin, Tabi no Tochū de Shitai to Deau (Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story, or literally Little Red Riding Hood Encounters a Dead Body During Her Journey.) novel, which will debut next year. The website also revealed the anime’s teaser trailer, teaser visual, main cast, and staff members. 

One of the anime’s character designers Manami Minakata also drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement:

On the outskirts of town lived a girl called “Red Riding Hood.”
One day, she found herself forced to embark on a journey for a certain purpose.
Strangely enough, however, she kept getting swept up in incident after incident along the way.
Using her innate curiosity and clever mind, Red Riding Hood set about solving each mystery.

“Why is your criminal plan so sloppy?”

This is the world of a fairy tale everyone knows—.

The anime will star Yume Miyamoto as Red Riding Hood (left in image above), and Akira Sekine as Pinocchio.

Itsurō Kawasaki (Baban Baban Ban Vampire, Cardfight!! Vanguard, Lady Jewelpet) is directing the anime at Benten Film, and is also writing the script. Manami Minakata (Baban Baban Ban Vampire sub-character designer, Grendizer U episode animation director) and Yūko Yahiro (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2) are designing the characters. Izumi Hoki (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time, MAO) and Hiroshi Katō (2003 Astro Boy, Barakamon) are the art directors, Tomoe Yoshimura (The Heike Story, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt) is in charge of color setting, Rieko Koike (Baban Baban Ban Vampire, Diabolik Lovers) is the compositing director of photography, and Daisuke Hiraki (Backflip!!, Bocchi the Rock!) is the editor. 

Futabasha published Aoyagi’s novel in August 2020. 

Tanakanoka launched the novel’s manga adaptation in Futabasha‘s Monthly Action magazine in January 2023, where it serialized until the magazine ceased publication in February 2024. The manga then moved to Futabasha‘s Web Action manga website in April 2024. The manga ended with its fourth compiled book volume, which shipped in June 2025.

The Elder Sister-like One is an original manga series created by manga artist and illustrator Pochi Iida. It began commercial serialization in Dengeki G’s Comic in 2016 and has since become a popular series, and projects such as voice dramas have been launched to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025.

Theis Chiya 1/6 Scale Figure is a recreation based on an original illustration drawn by Pochi Iida for Comic Market. She is sculpted with a bewitching expression as she shoots an upward glance that seems to beckon its viewer. Her stunning proportions have been recreated with intricate details expressing soft, realistic skin textures. Attention especially went into the contrast between the tentacles and beautiful black hair wrapping around her legs and her translucent skin.

Furthermore, this is the first The Elder Sister-like One figure with detachable parts. By swapping out certain parts, you can recreate her in an even sexier state.
