Will Quinn Hughes’ next contract exceed Kirill Kaprizov’s? Jerome Miron / Imagn Images

ST. PAUL, Minn. — As offseasons go, this hasn’t exactly been the most exciting one for the Minnesota Wild.

Quinn Hughes has yet to sign his extension. Dylan Larkin, for now, is still the captain of the Detroit Red Wings. And the Wild have been largely quiet since the early days of free agency when they signed Maxim Shabanov and Calvin Pickard and traded Jake Middleton to the Calgary Flames for Blake Coleman and Olli Maatta.

A John Hynes extension is on the horizon, and the Wild continue to work toward signing Hughes while keeping their fingers crossed Larkin can still be had, but a lot feels unsettled. It’s not even clear which forwards are going to skate alongside the team’s franchise player, Kirill Kaprizov, who lost his bosom buddy Mats Zuccarello to the L.A. Kings in free agency.

How are Wild fans feeling? You tell us in our annual fan survey, the results of which will run next week.
