Baltimore Ravens cornerback Nate Wiggins was carted off the practice field on Tuesday with what appeared to be a left leg injury. He suffered the injury in the end zone while covering rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane during a one-on-one drill.
Ravens coach Jesse Minter said after practice that Wiggins, the 2024 first-round pick, was undergoing tests and that he was unsure about the severity of the injury.
“Don’t have a ton of information on that yet,” Minter told reporters immediately after practice. “We’ll get a look at it and see where it’s at.”

The Ravens, after Wiggins’ MRI, believe the cornerback avoided a major injury, per a team source. He could be sidelined for a bit, but the expectation is that he’ll return sooner rather than later.
Losing Wiggins for any time would be a significant blow to the Ravens. He’s regarded as their top cover corner. Minter did express confidence in the team’s cornerback depth, which includes veterans Marlon Humphrey and Chidobe Awuzie, and young corners T.J. Tampa, Keyon Martin and Chandler Rivers.
Wiggins has started 23 games over two years, including all 17 games last season when he had three interceptions and 14 pass deflections.
The Ravens have their first preseason game on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET against the Philadelphia Eagles.
