Burnley have terminated the agreement with their front-of-shirt sponsor Finotive One on the eve of the 2026-27 Championship campaign.
The club confirmed in a statement that their agreement for the company to become the club’s front-of-shirt and training wear partner had ended after less than two months.
The partnership with the retail trading provider was revealed on July 3, with a one-year deal announced.
Burnley moved quickly to confirm Vertu Motors as their new front-of-shirt sponsor, building on the relationship that began during the 2022-23 Championship promotion campaign.
A club statement read: “Burnley Football Club is disappointed to confirm that its agreement with Finotive has been terminated.
“We have acted decisively to protect the Club’s interests, and those of our supporters, while ensuring preparations for the new season continue uninterrupted, both on and off the pitch.”
Vertu are the fourth-largest automotive retailer in the UK. Over the past four years, the partnership between them and Burnley has grown through a range of initiatives focused on supporting people and communities across Burnley and wider East Lancashire including Vertu’s annual Festive Food Drive at Turf Moor.
Burnley have also confirmed that supporters who had already purchased replica shares with the now-former sponsor print have three options. They can claim a refund, exchange their shirt for a new Vertu-branded one, or have the Vertu branding applied to their existing shirt.
This news arrives two weeks after the club released their new away shirt, with the design process led by minority owner and former NFL superstar JJ Watt.
Burnley begin their Championship campaign against West Ham at Turf Moor on Sunday.
