Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of 21-year-old forward Mika Godts from Ajax.

The deal could be worth up to €55million to Ajax, consisting of an initial fee of €45m, plus €10m in potential add-ons.

Godts has joined the French champions on five-year deal through to 2031.

“I feel incredibly proud to be joining one of the best clubs in the world,” Godts said in a press release. “I can’t wait to pull on this shirt and experience the Parc des Princes and its supporters. I’ll give my all on the pitch to repay the faith placed in me by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique.”

The Athletic reported in June that Premier League champions Arsenal were among the admirers of Godts following the strongest season of his career to date with Ajax, in which he recorded 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 appearances.

Despite his form, which saw him earn his senior international debut for Belgium in March, Godts was omitted from Rudi Garcia’s final World Cup squad, as one of several surprise exclusions.

After a quiet start to their summer business, PSG have made several signings in recent weeks, with Ferran Torres, Maghnes Akliouche and Lucas Digne among the high-profile incomings.

Godts joined Ajax’s youth system from Belgian side Genk in January 2023, and went on to make three appearances in the Dutch top-flight that season, and played an increased role the following campaign, starting seven matches in the league.

He became a first-team regular for Ajax in the 2024-25 season, scoring eight goals and recording seven assists in 47 appearances in all competitions, before enjoying his best return to date last season, which saw him nominated for the league’s player of the season award.

In November 2024, Godts signed a new contract with Ajax, extending his terms until 2029.

The forward arrives in Paris as Bradley Barcola faces an uncertain future, amid interest from Liverpool and Arsenal. The Athletic reported at the end of July Liverpool were set to make an opening bid for Barcola. PSG value the France international at over £100m, and he has appeared reluctant to sign a new contract while getting less game time than he would like.
