EXCLUSIVE: Terrifier 3 studio, Cineverse, has taken domestic rights to Eugene the Marine starring Scott Glenn (Emmy nominee The White Lotus), Jim Gaffigan (Linoleum) Annette O’Toole (Virgin River), and Shioli Kutsuna (Invasion, Gundam) with plans for a theatrical release in select cities later this year.

The Hank Bedford directed and co-written movie follows Glenn as a proud former Marine living a highly regimented life. He is on the verge of being kicked out of his home by his hostile son (Jeremy Bobb) when he begins opening up to unlikely new friends while a mysterious serial killer is murdering them one by one.

The pic was shot on Super 16mm and inspired by giallo movies of the ’60s and 70s. Angela Aki and Hajime Kawauchi composed the score.

Eugene the Marine was selected by the Oldenburg International Film Festival in September 2025 as its opening night gala film. It was recently featured on the Letterboxd Video Store’s curated showcase of yet to be released festival favorites, Unreleased Gems.

Bedford said “After an incredible run on Letterboxd Video Store we are thrilled to partner with Cineverse to deliver this horror film with a heart to American theaters.”

“We can’t wait to bring Hank Bedford’s cinematic fever dream and Scott Glenn’s riveting performance to audiences across North America this fall.” said Dan Fisher SVP, Acquisitions and Distribution, Cineverse

Bedford co-wrote the film with Cesare Gagliardoni. Bedford and Gagliardoni produced alongside Stephen Vincent, Henry Bedford, Barbara Bedford, Patrice Innocenti, Anita Modak-Truran, and Lisa Reneau. EPs are Scott Feinstein and Michael VanWingerden.

Cineverse has the 20th anniversary re-release of Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar winning Pan’s Labyrinth in theaters on Oct. 9.
