Fate/Extra Record Game’s Trailer Reveals January 28 Release – News
Aniplex unveiled during Sony‘s State of Play livestream on Thursday a trailer for Type-Moon studio BB’s Fate/Extra Record game, the remake of Marvelous Entertainment‘s Fate/Extra PlayStation Portable game. The video reveals that the game will launch for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on January 28, following several delays. The trailer also previews gameplay and story:
TYPE-MOON will stream a special program for the game on Friday at 7:00 a.m. EDT.
The game will get a physical Limited Edition that includes a 3-disc soundtrack, SteelBook case, and artbook. The Digital Deluxe Edition will include an arranged BGM pack, Servant and player outfits bundle, three outfit packs, a digital soundtrack, and artbook.

The game was slated for a release in spring this year after a previous delay from a 2025 release. Type-Moon studio BB announced the game in July 2020, in what was the 10th anniversary of the original Fate/Extra game.
Aniplex will now publish the game.
The game had been delayed indefinitely following a mutual agreement between Notes (the Type-Moon creative circle’s official corporate and publishing name) and Bandai Namco Entertainment for the latter to pull out of publishing of the game. Type-Moon noted then that development on the game would continue, but the game’s development structure would change.
The game’s director and planner, and Type-Moon studio BB director Kazuya Nino left Type-Moon studio BB, due to personal reasons, and has also stepped down as Fate/Extra Record game’s director and planner. Nino added that he will be taking a break from developing games due to current health concerns. Nino was the producer for Fate/Extra, and also worked on the first Etrian Odyssey game.
Arco Wada returns as the game’s character designer.
Marvelous Entertainment and Type-Moon released the Fate/Extra PlayStation Portable game in Japan in 2010. Aksys Games released the game in North America in November 2011. The Fate/Extra CCC companion game shipped in Japan on the PSP in March 2013. The games are set in an alternate science-fiction continuity of Type-Moon‘s Fate universe, often referred to by fans as the “Extraverse.”
The games inspired SHAFT‘s 10-episode television anime Fate/Extra Last Encore in January 2018. Netflix began streaming the anime outside of Japan in June 2018. The three-episode Fate/Extra Last Encore: Illustrias Tendōsetsu (Illustrias Geocentrism) special then debuted in July 2018.
Marvelous released Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star, an “Extraverse” game, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in November 2016. XSEED Games released the game in the West in January 2017, and on PC and Switch in July 2017. Fate/EXTELLA LINK, an enhanced version of the game, shipped in Japan in June 2018, and XSEED Games released the game in March 2019.
Koei Tecmo launched the action RPG Fate/Samurai Remnant in September 2023. The game is available worldwide for PS5, PS4, PC via Steam, and Switch.

Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is the first entry in a planned trilogy, and it covers the first 11 episodes of the original television anime. The games feature a new story within the timeline of all 26 episodes.
The first game will launch in 2027, following a delay. The game was originally scheduled for release in 2026. It will use VR and mixed reality (MR) technology.
In the action-adventure game, players will explore the world of Evangelion as an original character whose dream is to be a pilot. There will be quests and battles based on the anime’s timeline. The game will feature co-op play with characters from the series, and there will be other original characters such as NERV trainees.
New cast members include:
Netflix began streaming the 1995 television anime in June 2019, and it describes the story:
A.D. 2015. Tokyo 3 is under attack by powerful creatures known as the Angels. The protagonist, Shinji Ikari, is chosen to pilot the Humanoid Decisive Weapon Evangelion — the only way for humanity to fight against the Angels. The battle for the fate of humanity starts now. The franchise is getting a new series.
A new anime short premiered at the “Evangelion:30+;” festival on February 21, and officially started streaming on March 8.
The franchise has inspired numerous spinoffs, merchandise, and collaborations. Hideaki Anno, the director of the anime, founded Studio Khara in 2006. He and the studio began producing a new tetralogy of films titled Rebuild of Evangelion, which reinterprets the events in the series. The tetralogy began with Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone in 2007, followed by Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo in 2009 and 2012, respectively.
