Aoki Denshō Welsh & Shedar Anime’s Main Trailer Reveals More Cast Members, Theme Song Artists – News

The official website for Aoki Denshō Welsh & Shedar (The Azure Legend: Welsh & Shedar), the original television anime by French entertainment company Ankama, revealed the anime’s main promotional video, new cast members, and theme song artists on Thursday.

The newly announced cast members are:

Yūko Kaida as Zabel, the powerful queen of Bonta

Makoto Furukawa as Joris, Welsh’s guide and teacher, and a hero who once solved a major conflict that determined the country’s fate

Risa Kayama as Bechamel, Welsh’s childhood friend

Additional cast members include Wataru Takagi as Khan Karkass, and Show Hayami as Azalar.

The above video previews the anime’s theme song “Bokura no Mirai e” (To Our Future) by artists Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui. Kageyama will also perform the ending theme song “Omelette.” Kageyama & KUKO will perform the insert song “I’m in you.”

The anime’s staff also announced that Takuya Imakado (The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) is the series’ monster designer.

The anime’s story centers on a country boy named Welsh, and a prince destined to become a king named Shedar. The two boys are from different stations in life, but their destinies intertwine when they try to end a tyrant’s plot to conquer the world.

The anime will premiere on October 2 on Tokyo MX at 9:25 p.m. JST (8:25 a.m. EDT).

The anime will star Rikuya Yasuda as Welsh, and Yūki Kaji as Shedar. 

Naoki Horiuchi (episode director for Kingdom second season, Black Clover, Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-) is directing the anime at Studio Massket. Saori Nakashiki (Sasaki and Peeps, Tales of Wedding Rings) is designing the characters, and Nakashiki is also one of the chief animation directors alongside Yoshiaki Tsubata (Date A Live IV) and Yuki Ikeda (WAVE!! -Let’s go surfing!! movie trilogy).

Eri Suzuki (Black Summoner) is the color key artist, and Studio Massket is also in charge of anime background art. Lucas Cisterne (3D CG for The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash) is in charge of art setting, Jun Watanabe (Ascendance of a Bookworm) is directing the sound at TO Books, and Pierre-Jean Beaudoin & Jose Pavli are composing the music. Tot is credited for the original work, scripts, and drafting the series story outline. Kenichi Yamashita (MF Ghost) is in charge of the series scripts for the anime’s Japanese version.

Ankama is an independent entertainment and digital creation group most widely known for the DOFUS tactical MMORPG, which launched in 2004. The company also published Atsushi Kaneko‘s SOIL manga, and Suguro Chayamachi‘s Togainu no Chi manga in French.
