Kazuya Komai (A-Channel episode director) is helming the anime at Sakura Create, with Deko Akao (Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.) handling the series composition. Shouhei Hamaguchi (Glamorous Heroes) is designing the characters. Michiru (Given) is composing the music.
Ayune originally serialized the romantic comedy manga titled Rinna Keibu wa Iki ga Dekinai in Comic REX magazine from October 2016 to December 2017 before relaunching it in Monthly Shounen Ace magazine in December 2020. Kadokawa published the tenth volume on May 25.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English on March 23 and published the first volume on September 22. The second volume is going on sale in January 2027.
