Happy Harvest Moon From Around the Anime World – Interest
September 25 marks Chūshū no Meigetsu (中秋の名月, Harvest Moon) in Japan. Sometimes called Jūgoya (十五夜) The day is oft celebrated with Tsukimi moon-viewing and displays of Tsukimi Dango (moon-viewing rice dumplings), chestnuts, and susuki (Chinese silver grass). Anime and manga are no strangers to Tsukimi, so let’s look at all the moon-viewing from this year’s Chūshū no Meigetsu from the anime and manga worlds:
Bayonetta
Bayonetta has weekly messages congratulating fans on another workweek completed. While the September 25 message did not address Chūshū no Meigetsu, the image included with the latest social media post features a full moon in the background.

The hand reaching toward the moon in the RE ENGINE logo design embodies “Reach for the Moon” (challenge the impossible), which is the origin of the engine’s name.
It was originally developed as the game engine for Resident Evil 7.
