‘Reacher’ Spinoff ‘Neagley’ Renewed For Season 2 At Amazon
Reacher was handed an early season six renewal earlier this week and Amazon has followed that up by bringing back its spinoff for another run.
Neagley, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, has been renewed for a second season.
It comes two weeks after the show dropped all episodes.
Amazon said that the show had reached 40M viewers in its first 13 days on the service and has become its fourth most-watched series debut with more than half of its audience coming internationally, particularly in the UK, Germany and Brazil.
Based on the books by Lee Child, the first season follows Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former military protégé of Jack Reacher in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice.
The series also stars Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman, with Alan Ritchson guest starring as Jack Reacher.
Neagley is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios. The series was created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, who serve as co-showrunners. The pair exec produce alongside Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner, while Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid, and Niko Fernandez oversee the project for Paramount Television Studios.
“Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.”
