The upcoming romance drama “Oh! My Guard” has dropped a preview of its first episode — and it’s already setting up one of the most deliciously meta love stories of the season, with CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa and Hong Seung Hee living in two very different worlds.

“Oh! My Guard” follows the unpredictable romance between Uhm Tae Bong (Jung Yong Hwa), an A-list actor hiding a fatal flaw, and Oh Hae Ra (Hong Seung Hee), a mysterious woman who believes she is Cha Hong Doo, the female lead of his drama.
A kiss he won’t film
The teaser opens with Uhm Tae Bong’s peculiar problem: although he is celebrated as a master of romance dramas, he halts a kiss scene with co-star Song Na Ri (Park You Na) just before their lips meet. A frustrated director demands to know, “Why won’t you film a good scene?” while his manager pointedly asks, “Have you really never kissed anyone before?”
A fan who becomes the heroine
Meanwhile, chaebol heiress Oh Hae Ra — described as “a daughter who has drifted away from the Chairman’s interest” — lives alone in a grand, quiet mansion. Her only joy is watching “Prince’s Bodyguard,” the drama starring Uhm Tae Bong, imagining herself as its heroine and wishing, “I hope something happens to me, too.”
Their fates collide when news breaks that Uhm Tae Bong has been injured during filming. Convinced that “if not now, I might never be able to see him,” Oh Hae Ra rushes out of the mansion — only to get into an accident. When she wakes, she believes she is Cha Hong Doo, the female lead of “Prince’s Bodyguard,” and that the real Uhm Tae Bong is the drama’s male lead, Han Jung Woo.
“Oh! My Guard” premieres October 24 at 10:50 p.m. KST.
