NXT Live Event Ends in Chaos as Stacks Suffers Scary Fall, Gets Stretchered Out

The October 16 NXT live event in Sudbury, Ontario ended on a frightening note after Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo suffered a scary fall during the main event and had to be stretchered out of the arena.

Stacks was competing as part of Birthright against Tony D’Angelo, Tavion Heights, Shiloh Hill and Shawn Spears in an eight-man tag team match when the action suddenly came to a halt.

The Scary Moment

During the match, Stacks took a back body drop to the outside and appeared to catch his face on the ring post before crashing hard onto his back on the floor. The referee immediately recognized something was wrong — the dreaded “X” signal went up, medical personnel rushed to ringside, and the main event was stopped instead of forcing the rest of the match to continue.

A stretcher was brought out while Stacks was being checked over at ringside, and he was ultimately taken out on it, bringing the show to an abrupt and uncomfortable ending.

No Word Yet on the Injury

There is still no confirmed word on exactly what Stacks injured or how serious the situation is. For now, the biggest takeaway is that WWE did not mess around once it became clear something had gone wrong. The referee stopped the match immediately, medical staff stepped in, and Stacks was removed from the ringside area with proper care.

That is never how anyone wants a live event to end, especially during the main event. Fans in Sudbury reportedly gave Stacks a warm ovation as he was taken out, and now the attention turns to whether WWE provides an update on his condition after what looked like a brutal landing. Here is wishing Stacks a full and speedy recovery.
