Horror fans looking for their next obsession this spooky season should have Silver Pines on their radar. The 2D horror metroidvania — described as Silent Hill meets Alan Wake — is sitting at its lowest price ever, with a 25% launch discount bringing it down to just $18.74 / £16.49 at Fanatical.

A Horror Mystery Worth Investigating

You play as private investigator Red Walker, searching for a missing musician named Eddie Velvet in a small American town hiding plenty of dark secrets. From an empty diner to deserted roads and abandoned buildings, the game leans into slow-burn atmospheric dread over cheap jump scares — with a dash of Twin Peaks weirdness thrown in for good measure.

The visuals channel Silent Hill’s nightmare fuel directly: the creatures you’ll fight look like they were pulled straight out of Konami’s horror franchise. And combat doesn’t pull punches — Walker isn’t some gun-toting mercenary. Inventory space is limited, every shot matters, and reloading the revolver requires well-timed button presses to chamber each bullet.

Released October 8, On Sale Now

Released on October 8, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Silver Pines has earned praise for gorgeous visuals and puzzles that hit the sweet spot — challenging without becoming frustrating. The GameSpot team calls it one of the most exciting entries in the horror genre in years.

With Halloween just around the corner and the game cheaper than it’s ever been, there’s never been a better time to take a trip to Silver Pines. Maybe don’t enter that empty building, though.
