AEW star Will Ospreay has spent years borrowing from the world of Assassin’s Creed for his wrestling persona — and now he wants to take that connection somewhere completely different. The high-flying Brit has officially thrown his name into the mix for a role in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Netflix series, saying he is ready to find out whether acting could be his next challenge.
Speaking to the Orlando Tourism Report, Ospreay first discussed how the games still inspire his wrestling, noting that he is playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows and recently started the new Black Flag. But when the topic turned to the planned Netflix adaptation, he revealed he has already put himself forward for a possible part.

The Aerial Assassin’s Gaming Roots
The Assassin’s Creed influence on Ospreay runs deep — it is baked into the very character he has wrestled under for years. His trainer Greg Burridge taught him that a wrestler gets only a few seconds after walking through the curtain to grab a crowd’s attention, and the Aerial Assassin persona was born from that lesson. Fans could watch him move and immediately understand the inspiration.
The connection even extends to his move set. Ospreay’s devastating elbow strike is named the Hidden Blade, a direct nod to the franchise’s iconic weapon. As he put it, he could not resist attaching that name to the game that had given him so much.
A Real Partnership With Ubisoft
What started as a one-sided tribute eventually became an official relationship. Ospreay has worked directly with Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed on three different wrestling entrances over the years, and he describes the partnership as a beautiful one. He hopes the collaboration leads to even bigger things — which is exactly why he decided there was no harm in pitching himself for the Netflix series once he heard it was in the works.
Whether casting directors take him up on the offer remains to be seen, but Ospreay has the athleticism, the look, and a genuine lifelong fandom behind him. If anyone can pull off leaping across rooftops with hidden blades on screen, it is probably the man who already does a version of it in a wrestling ring every week.
