Anya Rune (Airica Demia) Announces Wrestling Hiatus: “I’ve Fallen Out of Love” — Just Weeks After WWE Release

Airica Demia, known to WWE fans as Anya Rune, is stepping away from professional wrestling for the time being. The former WWE ID prospect made the announcement on her social media on Monday night, revealing that she has fallen out of love with the business.

“I’ve Fallen Out of Love With Wrestling”

In an emotional post, Rune explained that the decision is necessary for both her physical and mental health, though she does not know how long the hiatus will last.

“I need to take a step back from wrestling. Both for my physical and mental health. I don’t know how long this is going to last but I’m hoping to find a new love for it in the time I will be spending away,” she wrote. “I have unfortunately fallen out of love with wrestling but that doesn’t mean I don’t love everything its given me.”

She added that she will keep her social media “somewhat active”, though with less wrestling-related content, and thanked her supporters: “I love and appreciate every single last one of you guys who have continued to support me through everything. Thank you so much.”

Released by WWE Just Over a Month Ago

The timing adds another layer to the story. Rune was released by WWE on September 4, just over a month before her announcement. She had been regularly competing on WWE EVOLVE as part of the WWE ID program, having earned her ID contract back in March after performing as Airica Demia on the independent scene.

The announcement marks a sharp turn from expectations — she was recently expected to remain on WWE Evolve programming for months despite her September departure. Now, fans will be waiting to see whether this step back becomes permanent or whether Rune finds the spark that brought her to wrestling in the first place.
