Anthropic is going all-in on AI agents. The company has launched a new app called Claude Duet, aimed at rivaling the likes of Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, Hark, Instinct, Grok Bot, and Fo in the race to put an agent to work on your behalf.

What Claude Duet Can Do For Professionals
Unlike personal assistants that handle errands or book tickets, Duet is positioned squarely for professionals and small businesses. It can build a daily briefing for its users, create dashboards, or suggest actions based on the user’s data. Like other agents, Duet completes tasks in the background through its own virtual machine while you handle other things, then comes back to you if it needs approval.
Anthropic says Duet proactively delivers recommendations as it monitors ongoing tasks. The agent is built on the Claude Opus 5.5 model and can connect to over 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace. It can even make online purchases on users’ behalf via Stripe’s Link digital wallet or Shopify’s Shop Pay — though sensitive steps like payments require user approval.
Safety Guardrails And What’s Off Limits
Anthropic is drawing some hard lines: Duet won’t trade securities or move money between accounts. The company also released a new classifier that checks each message to prevent sensitive information from leaking out — by default, the agent turns down requests asking for credit card numbers and government identification.
Claude Duet is available as an app on iOS and Android, and on the web through Claude.ai for Pro and Max customers in research preview. Users have to join a waitlist to try it.
