How the Luke Littler Challenge Works
Each of the 24 ‘amateurs’ will take on the two-time reigning world champion in a single leg of 501. Anyone who can beat the 19-year-old phenom will be in line for the massive cash prize — one of the biggest paydays ever offered in a darts exhibition.
Littler shot to fame in 2024 when, aged just 16, he reached the PDC World Darts Championship final. He became the youngest world champion in history by winning the 2025 world title at 17 — a crown he defended 12 months later.
Sherrock Headlines the Contenders
Women’s world number three Fallon Sherrock is a pioneering figure in the sport, having become the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Championship when she beat Ted Evetts in 2019. Earlier this year, she ended Beau Greaves’ record 114-match winning streak in the PDC Women’s Series.
Fellow teenagers Mitchell Lawrie and Jayden Walker are also in the lineup. Scotland’s Lawrie, 15, became the first teenager to reach a WDF World Championship final last year and is a two-time world youth champion, while Walker won the England International Open earlier this month to become the youngest winner of a senior WDF title — a record previously held by Littler.
The Road to the Special
The audition process took place across London and Manchester in September, starting with participants trying to complete a leg of 501 in 24 darts or fewer. Successful players then faced a producer interview and a final-stage assessment judged by a panel including 16-time world champion Phil Taylor, Matchroom founder Barry Hearn and pundit Laura Turner.
