HyperX OMEN RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop $700 Off at Walmart
Even as RAM and GPU prices keep climbing, gaming laptop deals are still out there. This one is a standout: the HyperX OMEN 15″ (model 15-gb0xxx) with an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX CPU and GeForce RTX 5060 8GB mobile GPU for $1,199, per IGN’s Eric Song.
Here’s the full spec sheet: a 15.3-inch 2K 165Hz IPS display, the 8-core/16-thread Ryzen 7 8745HX (Zen 4 Dragon Range, boosting to 5.1GHz), 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Ryzen 7’s high boost clock makes it a genuinely good gaming chip.
Full-Power 115W RTX 5060: Why the TGP Matters
The headline detail is the GPU power budget. According to HP’s official spec sheet, this model pairs the AMD Dragon Range CPU with a GeForce RTX 5060 rated at 115W TGP — the maximum allowable. That means it will perform at the top of the pack compared to other RTX 5060 laptops, many of which run the same GPU at reduced wattages.
Unlike some other HyperX OMEN laptops, HP does not throttle the GPU on this model, so you’re actually getting the full 115W of power. The RTX 5060 mobile is a solid mid-range option — roughly a power-efficient version of the RTX 4070 — and should run most games at 60fps at 1900×1200, especially with DLSS 4.5 support.
More Powerful Than the Steam Machine at Nearly the Same Price
The Ryzen HX CPU and RTX 5060 combo outclasses the $1,049 Steam Machine, which ships with a very low-wattage CPU and a custom GPU roughly equivalent to an RX 7600 or RTX 4060. For about $150 more, this OMEN gives you a complete mobile platform with a built-in 2K 165Hz display.
At $1,199, this is one of the strongest sub-$1,200 gaming laptop deals we’ve seen — a full-power RTX 5060 at 115W is genuinely rare at this price. If you’ve been waiting to upgrade, this Walmart discount is worth a hard look.
