Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 Update Secretly Added The Witcher 3 Sword, Bear School Gear and More

Cyberpunk 2077’s surprise 2.5 update already gave players a lot to chew on, but fans have now uncovered a secret layer hiding inside it. Buried in the patch, developer CD Projekt Red quietly slipped in a whole set of The Witcher 3-themed cosmetics, from Geralt-style blades to Bear School gear for V. The studio never mentioned them in the official rundown, and players only pieced it together by digging through the update themselves.

The free 2.5 update was already stacked: a new dual-wielding playstyle, expanded ways to customize protagonist V’s appearance, additional quests and more. But the stealth crossover is the discovery fans are buzzing about, since it quietly ties CD Projekt Red’s two flagship worlds together in the most cosmetic, lore-winking way possible.

Players have catalogued five Witcher-flavored additions so far. The headline piece is the Sihil Sword, a blade etched with ancient writing down the shaft and spiked rivets along the edge. Alongside it comes the Boar Carver, a small knife modeled on the tool Geralt uses to carve trophies from slain beasts.

For V’s wardrobe, the update adds the Ursine Jacket and Ursine Pants, both based on The Witcher 3’s heavy Bear School armor sets. Rounding out the haul is The Professor’s Spectacles, a direct nod to the Hearts of Stone expansion — in The Witcher 3, that mask once belonged to the Professor and could be bought at the auction during the main quest Open Sesame! The Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners update had already snuck in similar crossover clothing, so this looks like a tradition CD Projekt Red plans to keep.

How to Unlock the Secret Witcher Items in Cyberpunk 2077 2.5

As flagged by @SynthPotato on X, grabbing the gear is simple: head to V’s apartment after receiving a text from Arianne about a gift waiting for you. It is the same delivery method CD Projekt Red has used for past secret item drops, so veteran players will know exactly what to expect.

That the studio hid a Witcher crossover inside a major gameplay patch without a word says a lot about how CD Projekt Red reads its own community: Night City players are Witcher players, and a Sihil blade in the hands of V is exactly the kind of reward that keeps a five-year-old game feeling alive.
