WAKEONE has issued a longer, formal statement on ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Geonwoo’s lawsuit and his future activities, hours after news of the legal action first broke on October 25, 2026. The agency apologized to fans, confirmed the group will continue as scheduled, and said it is still in communication with Geonwoo about his future.

Geonwoo, who has been on hiatus since April 2026, filed a lawsuit against WAKEONE seeking a ruling on the validity of his exclusive contract and his contractual status as an artist. The agency’s first response was brief, saying it was difficult to comment on specifics while legal proceedings were ongoing. Later the same day, WAKEONE returned with a fuller statement addressing fans directly.
WAKEONE’s Statement on Geonwoo’s Future Activities
In its new statement, WAKEONE said it had been preparing a variety of plans for Geonwoo’s future activities, including a concrete schedule and content, and had been continuing discussions with him. However, the agency said differences of opinion arose while planning the direction of those activities, which led to the current legal proceedings.
“We consider it deeply regretful that we have caused the fans concern and fatigue during this process,” the agency said, adding that it will respond to the matter faithfully in accordance with established procedures. WAKEONE also asked fans to refrain from spreading unconfirmed speculation or inaccurate information, warning that unverified claims could cause unnecessary misunderstandings and hurt both the artist and the fans.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE to Continue as Seven Members
WAKEONE confirmed that ALPHA DRIVE ONE’s activities will continue as scheduled. The agency said it will support the seven currently active members so they can focus on their music and performances in a stable environment, and will do its utmost to ensure their scheduled activities go ahead without setbacks.
At the same time, the agency stressed that it will keep communicating with Geonwoo about his future activities in the entertainment industry, leaving the door open for further discussion even as the lawsuit proceeds.
Geonwoo debuted as a member of ALPHA DRIVE ONE, the project group formed through “BOYS II PLANET,” in January 2026. He halted activities in April following controversy over alleged behind-the-scenes remarks, and the group has performed as seven members ever since. The lawsuit now puts the spotlight on how his contract dispute will be resolved — and whether a return to the group remains possible.
