Once-Popular Girl Group Member Kwon Sohyun Now Works as an Office Worker
On October 23, a YouTube channel posted a video titled “Leaving Work | 6 Months as an Entertainment Office Worker Vlog.” In it, Kwon Sohyun showed her busy daily routine — buying coffee and rushing to work at Cube Entertainment, where she works as a PD. She explained that she came in even on days off when other employees were resting, because she had work to do.
Kwon Sohyun’s Heartbreaking Confession About Her Idol Days
After finishing work, Sohyun addressed fans directly: “Some of you might wonder, ‘Is she still active as an actress?’ It’s been almost six months since I started working at Cube.” She gave two reasons for the change. Watching the Lightsum members, she said, she wanted to be even a little helpful. And after years of comparing herself to peers who debuted around the same time — in recognition, popularity and public appeal, even within the same group — she went through a period of anxiety that left her feeling it was “such a waste.”
“Although 4Minute did well, I’ve never thought that I personally succeeded,” she admitted. “I lived with a high level of insecurity. I always felt ambiguous. I’m not extremely beautiful, I’m not exceptionally talented, and I’m not outstanding at dancing or singing. I thought I was just too vague a person.”
Sohyun said she kept asking herself whether the idol life was the right fit, what she was good at, and where she could truly feel alive. When Cube offered her a production project, she saw it as a great opportunity to learn production work — and took it. Fans flooded the comments with support, praising her honesty and wishing her happiness in her new chapter.
