Serielizados Prizes: Etty and Killing a Bear Win Big in Barcelona

Levi, the influential Israeli creator behind “The Affair” and “Scenes From a Marriage,” took the international honor for “Etty.” On the national side, prominent Spanish TV-making duo Jorge and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo, known for “La Zona,” won for “Killing a Bear” (“Matar a un oso”).

The wins underline Serielizados’ role as a launching pad for both international prestige television and Spanish series talent. The Barcelona festival has built a reputation for spotlighting series before they reach wider audiences, and this year’s competitive sections drew strong fields on both sides.

El Observatorio Bags the Mind the Gap Pitch Prize

Alongside the two main series awards, “El Observatorio” picked up the Mind the Gap pitch prize, recognizing a promising project in development. Pitch prizes like this one are a key part of the festival ecosystem, giving emerging creators a platform and industry attention at an early stage.

Serielizados continues to grow as one of Spain’s most important series festivals, bringing international creators and Spanish talent together in Barcelona each year. This year’s winners reflect that mix: an established international name in Levi, a celebrated Spanish duo in the Sánchez-Cabezudos, and a new project to watch in “El Observatorio.”
