Legendary Entertainment’s new live-action Street Fighter film has dropped from #1 to #4 at the U.S. box office in its second weekend. The film earned an estimated $8.6 million over the October 23-25 weekend, a steep 72.1% drop from its opening frame.

The film has now earned an estimated $46.9 million in the United States and $79.6 million worldwide. It continued its run in Imax theaters, where it pulled in $1.8 million, or 21% of its second U.S. weekend total, bringing its cumulative Imax haul to $12 million. Its 10-day U.S. total sits 25% below Mortal Kombat 2’s 10-day total.
Street Fighter Film Drops to #4 After $30.7 Million Opening
The fall is sharp because the start was strong. The film opened on October 16 at #1 in the United States, earning $30.8 million in its first three days. In Japan, it opened at #8 with 134 million yen (about $853,900) in its first three days.
Set in 1993, the film follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. Behind the battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces the pair to face each other and the demons of their past.
What the Second Weekend Means for Street Fighter
The film is the first release under Paramount Pictures’ multi-year distribution deal with Legendary, signed in December, with Paramount distributing Legendary films worldwide except China. Kitao Sakurai directed the shoot in Australia, which began in August 2025, after brothers Danny and Michael Philippou departed the project. Legendary acquired the film and television rights to Street Fighter in April 2023 and works with CAPCOM on future projects, so the franchise’s screen future extends well beyond this one weekend, whatever the final box office tally.
