Sol Ruca has always been one of WWE’s most fun-loving babyfaces — but is there a darker side waiting to come out? Asked about a potential heel turn in a new interview, Ruca admitted she would love to try it, even though she has been told it may never happen.

Speaking with Korey Smith and Tor Smith on KRON4, Ruca was asked whether fans could ever see her turn heel. “I have no idea. I would love to be able to try that,” she said. “I have been told in the past that I most likely will not be heel, ever, because of how I am naturally. I’m quite a bubbly person. I feel like it’s going to take a very special person to get that side out of me. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
Sol Ruca on a WWE Heel Turn: Why She Has Been Told It Will Never Happen
It is an honest answer, and one that says a lot about how Ruca is seen backstage. Her natural energy — bubbly, upbeat, fun — is the core of her on-screen character, and the people around her clearly believe that is where she belongs. A heel turn would not just be a character change; it would mean finding the one person or storyline capable of pulling something entirely different out of her.
That framing is interesting, because wrestling history is full of beloved babyfaces who eventually turned — and the turns that worked best were the ones built around a specific betrayal or rivalry. Ruca’s comment that it would take “a very special person” to bring that side out of her sounds like an open invitation for creative to find that person.
Where Sol Ruca Stands in WWE Right Now
Ruca last competed on television at WWE Money in the Bank, in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Since then she has wrestled on WWE Main Event while waiting for her next televised chapter.
For now, the bubbly babyface remains exactly that. But Ruca has now said publicly that she wants to try the other side — and in wrestling, once a performer plants that seed in an interview, fans start watching every interaction a little more closely for the moment it sprouts.
