Matt Hardy Reveals He Sewed Every Hardy Boyz Tight Seen on WWE TV in the 90s

Matt Hardy has revealed that he personally sewed every pair of tights he and brother Jeff Hardy wore on WWE television in the 1990s. The revelation came as Hardy walked through his own Wikipedia page in a new interview with The Stunner.

Matt Hardy Sewed Every Hardy Boyz Tight Seen on WWE TV in the 90s

Before they became one of the most iconic tag teams in wrestling history, the Hardys spent most of the 1990s as enhancement talent, brought in to make other teams look strong. Even in that role, they still needed proper ring gear, and money was tight.

“I did. Yes. I sewed all of the tights we wore. All of the tights that you saw us wear on WWE TV in the 90s, I sewed all of those as well,” Hardy said. “So we didn’t have a ton of money, and tights were so expensive back then. So our mom had dad when we were younger. I dusted off our old sewing machine and taught myself how to sew, and then I started making our tights.”

From Handmade Gear to Tag Team Legends

The story adds a remarkable DIY chapter to the Hardy Boyz origin story. The same brothers who would go on to redefine ladder matches and tag team wrestling started out with gear made at home, stitched by Matt himself because professional tights were simply too expensive for a young team trying to break in.

It is also a reminder of how long the Hardys’ journey really was. Their 1990s enhancement run is often skipped over in highlight reels, but those years, and the handmade tights that came with them, were the foundation for everything that followed.
