Tzuyu, who has been in the industry for more than a decade with TWICE, recently found herself at the centre of online dating speculation. As the rumors kept spreading, her mother decided to address them herself.

TWICE Tzuyu’s Mother: “They Have Always Been Very Good Friends”

“Recently, there have been some rumors circulating online about TZUYU and a male friend. Because I have also known this friend for many years, I want to say a few words,” she wrote. “He and TZUYU have always been very good friends, he is a kind, sincere person who has always given TZUYU support and help.”

She added that it is perfectly normal for friends to eat together, go out, chat and look out for each other, and that such interactions should not be over-interpreted or speculated on because of a few photos or out-of-context information.

“I hope everyone will not criticize or attack anyone because of unconfirmed rumors,” she continued. “Please focus your attention instead to TZUYU’s music and work, and give her and those around her more respect and space. Thank you everyone for understanding and I hope the unnecessary speculation ends here.”

Fans React as TWICE Members Face Fresh Rumors

Reaction from fans was mixed. Some worried that a family member having to step in suggested Tzuyu did not have a proper PR team handling issues like this, while others said it was perfectly understandable for a mother to worry for her daughter.

Many fans also expressed frustration at seeing TWICE members caught up in rumors despite having been in the industry for over a decade. The episode is a reminder of how quickly a few photos can spiral online — and how, sometimes, the clearest response comes not from an agency statement, but from family.
