Reiko Shimizu’s Himitsu Season 0 Spinoff Manga Enters Final Arc on December 25

Reiko Shimizu’s Himitsu Season 0 spinoff manga is heading into its final stretch. The December issue of Hakusensha’s Melody magazine announced that the series will begin its final arc in the February 2027 issue, out on December 25, bringing the long-running prequel story toward its conclusion.

Himitsu Season 0 Final Arc Begins December 25

The spinoff of the original Himitsu – Top Secret manga first debuted in Melody back in October 2012, making it a series that has unfolded across more than a decade of serialization. Hakusensha shipped the manga’s 12th compiled book volume on July 3, giving readers a hefty back catalogue to revisit as the ending approaches.

The road here has not been straightforward. The manga went on hiatus in August 2021 so Shimizu could prepare for a new arc, and it only returned after two years, in October 2023. That comeback set the stage for the story’s current run, which now has a confirmed endgame in sight.

A Prequel Centered on Agent Maki

Himitsu Season 0 begins by telling the story of agent Maki before the events of the original series, filling in the backstory of a character central to the franchise’s world of forensic investigation and recovered memories. For readers of the original, the prequel has served as a deeper look at how Maki became the figure fans know.

The wider Himitsu franchise has already proven its staying power across media. Himitsu – Top Secret inspired the Top Secret ~The Revelation~ television anime by Madhouse in 2008, followed by a live-action film in August 2016, and the original manga recently inspired a live-action series that debuted in January 2025.

With the final arc now dated, longtime readers can mark December 25 on their calendars for the beginning of the end of Maki’s story.
