Oliver Glasner has vowed to “make some changes” after Nottingham Forest were booed off in a wasteful 2-0 defeat at Brentford — a result that leaves them rooted in the Premier League’s bottom three.
Forest remain the lowest scorers in the Premier League with just six goals all season. They racked up 15 shots at the Gtech Community Stadium but did not register a single effort on target until the 79th minute — a tame James McAtee effort that Caoimhin Kelleher gratefully collected.
Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest: Milenkovic Own Goal and Thiago Strike
The breakthrough arrived on the half hour when Brentford winger Dango Ouattara skipped past his man and delivered a cross that Nikola Milenkovic deflected into his own net past a wrongfooted Matz Sels. Mathias Jensen thumped a free-kick off the crossbar before the break as Brentford sensed a second.
Forest’s best moment came when substitute Ryan Yates headed Morgan Gibbs-White’s cross over from four yards — another golden chance squandered. Instead, Brentford sealed it in the 76th minute when substitute Jaidon Anthony crossed for Igor Thiago to slot home via another big deflection off the luckless Milenkovic.
Glasner Under Pressure: One Win in Nine as Forest Boss
Glasner has now won just one of his nine Premier League games since taking charge, picking up a single point from the last 15. The angry travelling fans made their feelings clear with chants of “what the f*** was that?” as the team walked off — and Glasner shared their anger in his post-match press conference.
“It’s not time to make compromises,” the Forest head coach said, acknowledging that things must change — or the club could be searching for a sixth manager since the start of last season. For Brentford, the win ended a four-match winless run in their 100th Premier League game at the Gtech Stadium.
