In a statement, Management Run said: “Jin Young is preparing to meet audiences with powerful fight scenes in the film ‘Fighter.’ Viewers can look forward to Jin Young’s raw and emotionally charged portrayal of a man who fights to protect his family, as well as a more intense side of the actor that he has not shown before.”
Jin Young Fighter movie plot details
“Fighter” is a youth crime action film about Hye Sung (Jin Young), an unknown MMA fighter who dreams of joining the UFC. After taking a dangerous job alongside his close friend Won Do (played by Kim Min Ho), Hye Sung gets tangled in a case involving a cold wallet holding cryptocurrency worth 60 billion won (about $45 million).
Hye Sung refuses to give up on his dream of becoming a professional fighter despite grinding poverty. Between training sessions, he works to cover his younger sibling’s medical expenses and chip away at family debts — until threats close in on him and everyone he loves, forcing him to fight for real.
Jin Young takes on his most physical role yet
The role marks Jin Young’s most physically demanding part to date. Known for balancing idol work with B1A4 and acting credits across K-dramas and films, he is expected to lean hard into the action choreography as Hye Sung climbs from underground gyms toward a professional shot — all while caught in a crypto crime spiral.
With filming now underway, more casting and release details are expected in the coming months.
