Talia Ryder, Elizabeth Marvel and Bill Camp Join STX True-Crime Thriller ‘PR€PPY’

The cast of PRƎPPY — the true-crime thriller from STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films — keeps getting stronger. Talia Ryder (Never Rarely Sometimes Always) has signed on for a third lead role opposite Kit Connor and Diana Silvers, while veteran actors Elizabeth Marvel (Presumed Innocent) and Bill Camp have also joined the ensemble.

A Real-Life Married Couple On Screen

The film is helmed by director Janicza Bravo. Character details are being kept tightly under wraps, but Deadline reports that Marvel and Camp — a decorated married couple in real life — will portray a married couple in the film. Production is now underway in Manhattan.

Ryder, who broke out with the critically acclaimed Never Rarely Sometimes Always, continues to build one of the most interesting young filmographies in Hollywood, with PRƎPPY marking another heavyweight lead role alongside Connor — fresh off his own rising-star run — and Silvers.

The ‘Preppy Killer’ Story

Based on an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck, PRƎPPY explores the summer of 1986 leading to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin at the hands of Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York’s Central Park. The shocking crime — in which Chambers was dubbed the “Preppy Killer” — captivated a generation and put privilege, class, and sex on trial in the court of public opinion.

With a prestige director, a heavyweight young cast, and one of the most infamous true-crime stories of the 1980s, PRƎPPY is shaping up as one to watch.
