Independent wrestling star Charles Crowley has revealed that his breakout voice role as Biddy Blas in Star Wars: Galactic Racer pushed his voice to its limits — a grueling recording process that nonetheless left him proud of what the team created.

Speaking to Soundsphere Magazine in a new interview, Crowley discussed voicing the fan-favorite character in the latest Star Wars video game. He admitted he sensed Biddy’s breakout potential almost immediately.

“He’d blown up a bit”

“I could tell Biddy Blas was gonna be popular early on,” Crowley admitted. “Then I woke up next day and he’d blown up a bit, and then next day it kind of dawned on me that this isn’t normal.” The character has clearly struck a chord with players since the game’s release.

The role was physically demanding. Crowley recalled the character description he was handed: “A small man that’s a bit on edge, anxious, and overcompensates.” Channeling that nervous, high-strung energy took a toll. “It was tough on the vocal chords,” he said. “I always left the booth sweating, dripping in sweat, but satisfied because I think we all agreed that we’d created a really special character.”

From the indies to a galaxy far, far away

Crowley remains a staple of the independent wrestling scene in the UK and beyond, but his acting and voice-acting career is accelerating. Landing a fan-favorite role in the Star Wars franchise — one of the most beloved properties in pop culture — marks a significant crossover moment for the wrestler-turned-actor.

In the same interview, Crowley also spoke about his wrestling ambitions, making clear he would love to be signed by a major promotion and get the platform to show what he is capable of. For now, though, he can add a galactic fan-favorite to his resume.
