Korean actress Ham So Won is openly considering a remarriage — with the very man she divorced. On the October 22 episode of MBN’s Exclusive World, Ham revealed she is thinking about remarrying her ex-husband Jin Hua, the Chinese man 18 years her junior whom she wed in 2018 and divorced in 2022.

Ham explained the original split came down to one thing: protecting their daughter Hye Jeong. “When our child was about five years old, she started to notice when her parents raised their voices,” she said. “My own parents fighting left such a lasting scar and was very painful for me. So, for my daughter’s sake, I wanted to resolve things quickly.”

The turning point was her car accident in June. After being moved from the ICU to a general ward, Ham needed a full-time caregiver — and the only person she trusted in her most vulnerable state was Jin Hua. “I wondered who could bear to see me like that, and it was only Jin Hua,” she admitted.
“I used to think of him as immature, but while he took care of me, I rediscovered new things about Jin Hua,” she said. She added wistfully that if he had met a woman his own age, things would have gone smoothly — before noting from afar, “I don’t see Jin Hua as someone with big problems.”
Ham So Won’s Mother Opposes the Remarriage — But the Actress Calls It a “Bonus Life”
Not everyone is on board: Ham’s mother opposes the reunion, saying she had hoped the son-in-law would earn steadily while her daughter worked. Jin Hua pleaded his case on the broadcast: “I was 25 when we got married, but now I’m much older. What you think in your 30s is different. These days are completely different. I’m thinking a lot more than before.”
The couple was then seen walking arm-in-arm with Hye Jeong, and Ham told him directly: “If you had acted like this before, I would have really liked you.” In a final candid interview, she said, “We are approaching each other step by step. In a way, this could be a bonus life. I want to live happily without wasting time with Jin Hua and Hye Jeong.”
