Drew McIntyre has never been shy about his love for WWE — and in a new interview, he put it in the most Drew McIntyre terms possible. Speaking to CNN News 18, the Scottish star was asked to choose between his burgeoning acting career and the world of pro wrestling, and he did not hesitate.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s WWE. It’s my first love. It’s my most dysfunctional relationship, my longest marriage, and we’ll be together as long as we can be together,” McIntyre said.

Drew McIntyre Chooses WWE Over Acting

McIntyre’s acting career has continued to grow, with roles in movies and the WWE-related project Agent Of Shadows. But he made clear that Hollywood will never replace the feeling of performing for a live WWE crowd — especially the passionate Indian fans, who he singled out for how much they get into the product.

He also noted that even Batista feels the same way, admitting the former WWE star wishes he could still be wrestling in front of big crowds. For McIntyre, nothing compares to a live audience: “when you get a good scene and it’s cut, and everyone went, ‘good job, move on, and they just leave, and you’re standing there. I wish everybody was clapping or cheering or something, but that’s what I miss. There’s nothing like the WWE fans.”

Elsewhere in the interview, McIntyre revealed he is not actively chasing acting roles, suggesting wrestling remains his priority. Given how he’s phrased it — a dysfunctional relationship and a long marriage — WWE fans have little to worry about.
