Akane-banashi Anime’s New Video Previews Karaku Cup Arc – News

The staff for the anime of writer Yūki Suenaga and illustrator Takamasa Moue‘s Akane-banashi manga posted a new promotional video and key visual on Sunday. The video teases the Karaku Cup arc about the student rakugo storytelling tournament of the same name.

TV Asahi describes the story:

“With only your voice and body—master the art.”

Akane Osaki, captivated since childhood by the magical performances of her father, Shinta Arakawa, witnesses a shocking incident during his decisive performance for promotion to shin’uchi (master rank). Six years later, now a high school student, she sets her sights on becoming a shin’uchi herself—pushing forward in the highly competitive world of rakugo.

A passionate and authentic rakugo drama begins now!

The anime stars:

Ayumu Watanabe (Children of the Sea, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko) is directing the anime at ZEXCS. Yu Harima (episode director for Summer Time Rendering, Tokyo Revengers) is the assistant director, and Kii Tanaka (Cheating Craft, Hinomaru Sumo) is both the character designer and chief animation director. Michihiro Tsuchiya (PriPara, Cross Game) is overseeing the series scripts, and Akio Izutsu (Phi-Brain – Puzzle of God, Akuma Kun) is composing the music. Kikuhiko Hayashiya is the rakugo supervisor.

Keisuke Kuwata is performing the opening theme song “Hitotarashi” and ending theme song “AKANE On My Mind ~ Manjū Kowai” He wrote the lyrics and music for the both songs specifically for the anime.

The anime began airing on TV Asahi‘s “IMAnimation” programming block on April 4. The anime also has its own “Akane-banashi Global” YouTube channel, where full episodes stream for free in North America and Latin America, after their television broadcast in Japan. Netflix will begin streaming the series, along with an English dub on May 17. The first two episodes will stream on the service on that date, and later ones will launch weekly.

The anime is also streaming
on aniverse in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. ADN is streaming it in France, Monaco, Andorra, Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Anime Box is streaming it in Spain and Anime Generation is streaming it in Italy. The Ani-One YouTube channel is streaming the anime in the Asia Pacific (excluding Korea and China). Bahamut, ChungHwa Telecom MOD & Hami Video, LiTV & Ofiii, Line TV, My-Video, Catchplay, and friDay is streaming the anime in Taiwan. Bahamut is streaming it in Hong Kong and Macao. Catchplay is streaming it in Indonesia and TrueID is streaming it in Thailand. playmax.mn STAR TV is streaming it in Mongolia. Laftel and Aniplus Channel are streaming it in South Korea.

Suenaga and Moue launched the manga in February 2022. Shueisha published the 21sy compiled book volume on April 3. The manga was nominated for the 47th Kodansha Manga Awards and the 16th Manga Taisho awards in 2023. The manga ranked at #4 for the top 20 list of manga for male readers in the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha‘s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.

Viz Media‘s Shonen Jump service and Shueisha‘s MANGA Plus service both publish the manga in English. Viz Media is also publishing the manga in print.

The manga made the American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2024 list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens, and The New York Public Library also named the manga on its Best Books list for teens in 2023.

The Vermilion Mask Anime Reveals Singer Yuya Tegoshi as Guest Voice Actor – News

Tegoshi to appear in upcoming anime’s 12th episode

The official website for the anime of Dr.Poro and Nabana Naba‘s The Vermillion Mask (Shuiro no Kamen) manga announced on Tuesday that the T.N.T rock band’s vocalist Yuya Tegoshi will voice a character in the anime’s 12th episode. (That episode will be the final episode of the anime’s first part.) T.N.T, which is also the anime’s PR ambassador, will host a special program for the anime on October 7, and a simultaneous watch party with the broadcast of the anime’s second episode on October 17.

Yomiuri TV describes the anime:

At the center of the story is Peru, a young apprentice mask maker who loses control under the influence of a cursed mask, slaying both his master and comrades in a tragic outburst. Wracked with guilt, Peru sets off on a journey to destroy the legendary masks his master once crafted, crossing paths with unlikely allies and deadly foes. What unfolds is a gripping battle for redemption, as both the fate of Peru’s soul and the world itself hang in the balance.

The anime stars:

Tetsuaki Watanabe (BLUELOCK season 1) is directing the anime at 100Studio (WOW Studio). Gai Hazako is the assistant director. Daisuke Ōhigashi (Fate/strange Fake) is in charge of series composition. Hisashi Higashijima (Mashle: Magic and Muscles) is drawing the character designs. Fumiyuki Go is the sound director. Arisa Okehazama (The Apothecary Diaries) is composing the music.

MAN WITH A MISSION performs the opening theme song “Firestarter,” and yutori performs the ending theme song “Koe.”

The anime will premiere on October 10, and it will have two parts or cours (quarters of a year). Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs.

Dr.Poro and Naba launched the manga in Shōnengahōsha‘s Young King Ours magazine in February 2021. Shōnengahōsha published the manga’s ninth compiled book volume on July 6.

Orange’s emaqi e-bookstore platform publishes the manga in English.

‘Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston’ Announces Additional Cast

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Umikaze Minamino‘s Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston: Byoujaku Reijou ni Tensei shita Kamigoroshi no Bujin no Karei naru Musouroku (Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden) light novel announced additional cast Tuesday. The anime series will air for two consecutive cours, beginning on October 6 at 9:25 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by BS Nippon TV and MBS.

Motoki Nakanishi (Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu) is directing the anime at Konami animation, with Nichita Seki (Kidou Senshi Gundam: GQuuuuuuX assistant episode director) serving as assistant director. Gigaemon Ichikawa (Sozai Saishuka no Isekai Ryokouki) is handling the series composition. Yuuki Itou (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi animation director) and Kana Tosaoka (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku animation director) are designing the characters, while Naoki Endou (Love Live! Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Doukoukai) is composing the music.

Minamino penned the fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website from May 2019 to January 2021. Hobby Japan began publishing the novel under its HJ Bunko imprint with illustrations by Jishaku in September 2022 and by Kanata Katana from the third volume onwards in September 2023. The 11th volume was released on June 1.

Kodai Kabuto began serializing a manga adaptation on the Manga UP! platform in November 2022. Square Enix published the eighth volume on February 6.

J-Novel Club licensed the light novel for digital release in English in November 2023 and published the tenth volume on September 1.

Square Enix began simulpublishing the manga in English on its Manga UP! platform in March 2024.

Monster Hunter Outlanders Game Launches on October 29 – News

Game’s mainland China version slated for 2027



The official website for CAPCOM‘s Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new game based on its Monster Hunter action game franchise, announced on Tuesday that the game will launch for iOS and Android devices on October 29. The game’s mainland China version is scheduled for 2027.

The game is an open-world survival game featuring elements of the Monster Hunter action series and multiplayer support. There is a system to switch between characters. The game previously revealed a new Elder Dragon monster named Ruger Aidal.

Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of China’s Tencent conglomerate, is developing the title. Franchise composer Tadayoshi Makino is again handling the music.

TiMi Studio Group announced in November 2022 that it was working on a new mobile game based on Monster Hunter. The company is best known for developing Call of Duty Mobile, as well as the Pokémon Unite game. The latter debuted for smartphones in September 2021.

CAPCOM and Niantic released Monster Hunter Now, an augmented reality (AR) smartphone game in the franchise, for iOS and Android devices in September 2023.

The Monster Hunter Wilds game debuted globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in February 2025. The game sold over 8 million copies worldwide in its first three days. According to the company, this is the fastest that one of its titles has reached this milestone. As of March 2025, the game had sold 10 million copies worldwide. The game’s Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion will launch in 2027. The game is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launched on March 13 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
