The staff for Seishun Buta Yarō wa Dear Friend no Yume o Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend) film, the latest anime of Hajime Kamoshida‘s Rascal Does Not Dream (Seishun Buta Yarō or Aobuta) novel series, presented new “memorial visuals” featuring Mai Sakurajima and Kaede Azusagawa via videos on April 19 and 26.

To commemorate the “finale” of the anime, the staff has been presenting a new “memorial visual” featuring a different heroine every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. (7:00 a.m. EDT).

The new film is teased as taking the story towards its finale. (The film shares the same name as the 15th and final novel volume.)

The film’s returning cast includes:

Sōichi Masui returns to direct the film at CloverWorks. Masahiro Yokotani is also back to oversee and write the script, and Satomi Tamura is again designing the characters. The band fox capture plan also returns to compose the music. Aniplex is once again distributing the film.

The film will open in theaters in Japan on October 16.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai), the first television anime based on the light novel series, premiered in Japan in October 2018 and aired for 13 episodes. The anime adapts the story up to the fifth novel volume. Aniplex of America streamed the series on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and other services.

Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume wo Minai), the anime film that adapts the the sixth and seventh light novel volumes in the franchise, opened in Japan in June 2019. Aniplex of America and Funimation Films screened the anime in the United States. Crunchyroll began streaming the film on June 19 with both English subtitles and dub.

The first film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out opened in Japan in June 2023. The film sold 118,108 tickets in its first three days and earned 175,648,924 yen (about US$1.28 million) to rank #4 in its opening weekend. Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid, the second film, opened in Japan in December 2023, and ranked at #4 in its opening weekend. The film sold 119,000 tickets and earned 164,594,554 yen (about US$1.11 million) in its first three days.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai), the television anime adapting the light novel series’ “University Student Arc,” premiered on July 5. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired, and is also streaming an English dub.

The original novel series has over 3 million copies in circulation. The Yen On imprint of Yen Press publishes the novel series, and Yen Press publishes Tsugumi Nanamiya‘s manga adaptation. Yen On published the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend novel volume on January 6.

Monster Hunter Outlanders Game Launches on October 29 – News

Game’s mainland China version slated for 2027



The official website for CAPCOM‘s Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new game based on its Monster Hunter action game franchise, announced on Tuesday that the game will launch for iOS and Android devices on October 29. The game’s mainland China version is scheduled for 2027.

The game is an open-world survival game featuring elements of the Monster Hunter action series and multiplayer support. There is a system to switch between characters. The game previously revealed a new Elder Dragon monster named Ruger Aidal.

Chinese developer TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of China’s Tencent conglomerate, is developing the title. Franchise composer Tadayoshi Makino is again handling the music.

TiMi Studio Group announced in November 2022 that it was working on a new mobile game based on Monster Hunter. The company is best known for developing Call of Duty Mobile, as well as the Pokémon Unite game. The latter debuted for smartphones in September 2021.

CAPCOM and Niantic released Monster Hunter Now, an augmented reality (AR) smartphone game in the franchise, for iOS and Android devices in September 2023.

The Monster Hunter Wilds game debuted globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in February 2025. The game sold over 8 million copies worldwide in its first three days. According to the company, this is the fastest that one of its titles has reached this milestone. As of March 2025, the game had sold 10 million copies worldwide. The game’s Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance expansion will launch in 2027. The game is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launched on March 13 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Tomohiro Hata Performs Live-Action Ao no Hana Utsuwa no Mori Series’ Theme Song – News

NHK announced on Tuesday that Tomohiro Hata will perform the theme song “Fragments” for the live-action series of Yūki Kodama‘s Ao no Hana, Utsuwa no Mori (Blue Flower, Forest of Vessels) manga. NHK also unveiled a new visual for the series:

The manga takes place in Hasami, a town in Nagasaki prefecture famed for its pottery, and centers on Aoko, who is a ceramics painter, and her romance with a young man named Tatsuki who visits her studio.

Former SKE48 and Nogizaka46 idol Rena Matsui (Ultimate Otaku Teacher) will star in the series as Aoko Baba. Hayate Ichinose (Kishiryū Sentai Ryusoulger) plays the male lead Tatsuki Manabe.

The series will debut on NHK‘s “Yorudora” programming block on October 26. 

The manga launched in Shogakukan‘s Flowers magazine in March 2018, and ended in March 2022. Shogakukan published the manga’s 10th and final compiled book volume in August 2022.

Kodama (Tsukikage Baby, Chiisako no Niwa) launched her nine-volume Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope) manga in Flowers in 2007, and ended the series in March 2012. Shogakukan published a one-volume spinoff manga titled Sakamichi no Apollon: Bonus Track in November 2012. 

The Kids on the Slope manga inspired a television anime on Fuji TV‘s late-night Noitamina programming block in April 2012. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired under the title Kids on the Slope, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in 2013. 

The Kids on the Slope manga also inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan in March 2018.

Kodama launched the Wolf’s Daughter: A Werewolf’s Tale (Ōkami no Musume) manga in Flowers in October 2022, and it is still ongoing. Shogakukan published the manga’s 10th volume on April 10. Seven Seas is releasing the manga in English, and it released the third volume on April 14.

Light Novel ‘Sekai Saikyou no Majo, Hajimemashita’ Ends with 6th Volume

Publishing company Square Enix announced on Wednesday that Mochimaru Sakaki‘s Sekai Saikyou no Majo, Hajimemashita: Watashi dake “Kouryaku Site” wo Mireru Sekai de Jiyuu ni Ikimasu (The World’s Strongest Witch: I’m Starting My Free Life in a World Where Only I Can See the Online Strategy Guide) light novel will end with its sixth volume on October 7.

Sakaki began penning the fantasy adventure series on both the Shousetsuka ni Narou and Kakuyomu websites simultaneously in May 2022. Square Enix began publishing the novel through its SQEX Novel imprint in December 2022, featuring illustrations by riritto. The fifth volume was released in May 2025.

Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in February 2025 and released the first volume in August 2025. The third volume will go on sale on November 10.

Tamaki Toga began drawing a manga adaptation in Getsumaga Kichi magazine in May 2023. Kodansha released the 13th volume on August 7.

A television anime adaptation produced by Bridge and Aisle is scheduled to premiere on October 7.
