Shōko Nakagawa Performs 2nd Ending Theme Song for The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch Anime – News

Sony Music Labels announced on Tuesday that Shōko Nakagawa will perform the ending theme song “Twilight Magic” for the second cours (quarter of a year) of the television anime of Yōsuke Kaneda‘s The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch (Kuroneko to Majo no Kyōshitsu) manga. Nakagawa revealed and performed the song during the “Shōko Nakagawa 20th Anniversary Birthday Live” event. TeddyLoid wrote, composed, and arranged the song.

The song will launch digitally in July, and its CD will ship on September 9.

The series debuted on April 12, and will air for a continuous two cours , for a half-year run. The anime airs in the “Agaru Anime” programming block on CBC, TBS and 26 other channels on Sundays at 11:30 p.m. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs.

The anime stars:

Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Nisekoi – False Love, Promise of Wizard, Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Midori Gotō (Clean Freak! Aoyama kun, Mr. Villain’s Day Off) is in charge of series scripts, and Takayuki Onoda (Hortensia Saga) is designing the characters.

ASCA is performing the opening theme song “Cusp,” and Spira Spica is performing the ending theme “Tune Up.”

The anime’s English website describes the story:

Witch apprentice Spica Virgo can’t use magic at all. To earn a place in the magic school she dreams of entering, she needs a mentor-but she has neither money nor connections. One day, a mysterious black cat who speaks and wields magic appears before her! Spica wants to master sorcery, and the black cat longs to break a curse. The pair’s goals align. Thus begins their secret master-apprentice pact! And the key to breaking the curse is a kiss on the…?!

Kaneda (Boarding School Juliet) launched the manga on Kodansha‘s Magazine Pocket manga app in March 2022. Kodansha published the manga’s 14th compiled book volume on March 9. Kodansha‘s K MANGA service publishes the manga in English.

The November issue of Kadokawa‘s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine announced on Saturday Katsura Ise and Takuma Yokota will launch a new miniseries for their Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. A Magic: The Gathering Manga (Subete no Jinrui o Hakai suru. Sorera wa Saisei Dekinai.) manga, based on the Magic: The Gathering trading card game, beginning in the December issue on October 26. The series will be titled Subete no Jinrui o Hakai suru. Sorera wa Saisei Dekinai. -Timeshift- (Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. -Timeshift-).

Ise confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) the new manga will be a short limited series that will run for four chapters irregularly in the magazine.

Viz Media releases the main manga in English and describes the story:

The manga first debuted as a one-shot in Monthly Shōnen Ace in August 2018. The manga started its serialization in the magazine in November 2018. Wizards of the Coast LLC. is credited with cooperation. The manga ended serialization in April 2025, and Kadokawa shipped the 18th and final volume in June 2025.

Akaza Samamiya announced on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday the Mr. Mallow Blue: After The Rain side story to the Mr. Mallow Blue manga will end in the next chapter.

The original series focuses on the meetings of various social outcasts, including a fragile girl, a shut-in, and a handsome man who wears a cold expression as a mask.

Samamiya launched the side story in the March issue of Kadokawa‘s Asuka magazine, which shipped in January.

Samamiya launched the main manga in Kadokawa‘s Asuka magazine in November 2019, and ended the series with the the sixth and final compiled book volume on December 24.

Samamiya launched the Ballad x Opera manga in Asuka in May 2017, and ended it in September 2019. Kadokawa published the manga’s fifth and final volume in November 2019.

Samamiya serialized the Bloody Mary manga series in Asuka from November 2013 until February 2017. Kadokawa published 10 volumes for the manga, and Viz Media published all 10 volumes in English.
