‘Don’t Suck’ Trailer: Jeff Hiller Joins Season 2 Cast
“Don’t Suck,” an original independent web series on YouTube, will return for its second season on June 4, IndieWire can exclusively reveal. The team made the announcement of the new season on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
Originally premiering in 2017, “Don’t Suck” is an original web series that centers around a group of queer friends living in New York City, as they navigate their ambitions, insecurities, and romance. The show went viral upon its first release, with the 10 episodes racking up 8 million views over the course of its release.
The series was created by Tyler Isaac Martin, who also writes and stars in the show. Also starring are actors Katie Ailion, David Gow, Sushant Adlakha, and Christopher Trepinski, who will all return for the second season.
“I wanted to create something that could make you laugh, break your heart, and remind you that being loud, weird, vulnerable, and authentic is revolutionary in itself,” Martin said in a statement. “‘Don’t Suck’ has always been about joyful defiance — and this season takes that even further.”
Season 2 of “Don’t Suck” will feature a larger ensemble, including Emmy-winning “Somebody, Somewhere” star Jeff Hiller. Other additions and recurring cast members joining the show include NPR podcast host Ophira Eisenberg, “Good Morning America” Emmy winner Will Ganss, Jim Newman, Sheria Mattis, and Kennedy Kanagawa.
“Indie queer art is always important — but perhaps now more than ever,” Hiller said in a statement. “How exciting that the ‘Don’t Suck’ team came together and made this show with nothing but hard work and sweat.”
“Independent queer art can be a weapon of resistance,” Kanagawa added. “‘Don’t Suck’ is a finely honed blade.”
“Don’t Suck” will air free on YouTube through Pride Month, with new episodes debuting weekly Thursdays on the platform. The season will run for 10 episodes in total. The season will conclude with a “two-part musical,” on July 30 and August 6. In addition, the team behind the series will host a live finale event on July 27, which will be co-presented by Playbill. Chase Infiniti to Star in Dylan Clark Horror Movie ‘Portrait of God’
Chase Infiniti has chosen her first film role since breaking out with the best picture winner One Battle After Another.
Infiniti will star in the mysterious horror feature Portrait of God, which hails from rising director Dylan Clark, who wrote the script with Joe Russo. No plot details were available, but sources describe it as a new twist on religious horror.
Portrait of God was once set up at Universal, but the studio quietly let it go earlier this year, making it available for Lionsgate to move in and greenlight it. It has a high flying list of producers, including Sam Raimi for Ghost House Pictures and Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw, marking the first time the two horror maestros have collaborated.
Also producing are Ghost House’s Rob Tapert and Monkeypaw’s Win Rosenfeld, along with Russo. Romel Adam and Jose Cañas ovrsee for Ghost House. For Monkeypaw, Chris Rosati is executive producing thru his first look deal at his NAT20 Films banner
Infiniti broke out with Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, her feature debut that won six Oscars. Her followup film The Julia Set, shot before One Battle made her a name, recently bowed at the Toronto International Film Festival and is on the hunt for a buyer.
Clark is a rising new filmmaker, who came up by posting his high-horror short films to YouTube that amassed millions of views. That got him Hollywood’s attention, and before Portrait, he will make his feature directorial debut with the reboot of the Blair Witch Project for Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster. The deal comes as there is an arms race for young horror talent, with Curry Barker’s Obsession and Kane Parson’s Backrooms becoming breakout hits of the summer.
“We’re delighted to deepen our creative partnership with Dylan Clark, whose remarkable talent and distinctive perspective make him one of the most exciting emerging voices in horror,” said Lionsgate film boss Adam Fogelson. “With Sam and Jordan, two of the genre’s most influential producers, the extraordinary Chase Infiniti starring, and Dylan at the helm, this is an exceptional creative team. We believe they have all the ingredients for a film that is haunting, thought-provoking, and scary as hell.”
Added Clark: “With Blair Witch, I’m experiencing firsthand the trust Lionsgate places in its filmmakers, and I couldn’t be happier that Portrait of God has found a home there as well. I’m also thrilled to welcome Chase Infiniti to our team. She blew me away in One Battle After Another and is one of the most exciting young actors working today.”
Scott O’Brien will oversee the project. Dan Freedman negotiated for the studio, while Brandon Hill brought the project to Lionsgate.
Clark is repped by UTA, 3 Arts, and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis. Infiniti is repped by Gersh, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and the Lede Company.

‘Bleed The Night’: Fox Entertainment Studios Buys Vampire Spec
EXCLUSIVE: Amidst an industry-wide search for the next breakout horror project, Fox Entertainment Studios has snapped up Bleed the Night, a spec by Keith Cooper and Zoe Cooper, based on a story by Cooper & Justin Dyck.
Bleed the Night opens with a lonely teenager answering a mysterious ad reading “MUST LOVE BLOOD.” She then meets a charismatic young vampire who offers her the friendship and freedom she’s always craved — turning one summer night in 1994 into a bloody crime spree that tests just how far she’ll go for her first real friend.
Mark Ankner is producing for Mountain Top Pictures (Ponyboi, Slanted) alongside Adam Goldworm via his Aperture banner (upcoming Horrorstör, Hannibal). Dyck serves as executive producer. While unconfirmed, we’re told the team is actively meeting with directors with an eye toward shooting in Q1 2027.
Keith Cooper and Dyck come to the project after partnering on the 2020 horror flick Anything for Jackson, as well as QC Entertainment’s forthcoming horror-thriller Casket Girls starring Gabrielle Union. Cooper wrote and Dyck directed both of those titles; the duo also jointly produced the former. As a director, Dyck has also worked on Shudder’s Creepshow. He and Cooper are repped by WME, Aperture and Ashley Silver at Brecheen Feldman Breimer.
Zoe Cooper is repped by WME, Gotham Group and Stuart Rosenthal at Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.

Bradley Cooper to Star in G.I. Joe Movie
Paramount Pictures and Danny McBride are putting up their Duke.
Bradley Cooper has signed on for military duty to star in Paramount’s new and untitled G.I. Joe feature.
McBride, known primarily as an actor and for his work as creator of HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, is directing the project. He also wrote the script, along with Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri.
Little is known about the new take on the Hasbro property, a toy line that gained its modern relevance from a relaunch that included a cartoon series and a Marvel Comics comic in the 1980s. (It was first launched in mid-1960s as a realistic soldier toy.)
It was this version that not only introduced a commando strike force featuring soldiers with monikers such as Duke, Roadblock and Snake Eyes but also its over-the-top, hi-tech adversary, the terrorist organization known as Cobra, with key bad guys including Cobra Commander, Baroness, Destro and Zartan.
Cooper will play Duke, the nominal leader of the Joes. The character was played by Channing Tatum in the live-action movies G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, released by Paramount in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
The Joe feature has been one of the big priorities at the studio, which, under new owner David Ellison, has been ramping up development of major IP and brands such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Trek. Securing Cooper as the lead of what will be an ensemble signals that, among the IP plays, the project may be the one that gets before cameras and presumably theaters first.
Producing are Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and Zev Foreman of Hasbro Entertainment.
G.I. Joe is a rare IP play for Cooper, whose last major role was starring as Leonard Bernstein in Maestro, the ambitious biopic he also co-wrote and directed, earning four Oscar nominations in the process.
Cooper is known as the voice of Rocket in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies and had a cameo in James Gunn’s Superman movie last year. He worked with McBride previously when he appeared in episode of Gemstones.
He is repped by Range Media.
