Fear not, citizens! We have the winners of the 2026 Critics Choice Super Awards.

Prime Video’s now-wrapped series The Boys and Apple TV’s Emmy noms-laden horror comedy Widow’s Bay led the way with three wins apiece Thursday as the critics group revealed the honorees for its sixth annual celebration of the superhero, sci-fi/fantasy, horror and action genres. Obsession, Superman, Project Hail Mary and The Furious scored two wins each to lead the film side.

Among the lauded actors were Supergirl star Milly Adcock, Project Hail Mary lead Ryan Gosling, Weapons Oscar winner Amy Madigan, Obsession creeper Inde Navarrette, Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus), Matthew Rhys and Kate O’Flynn of Widow’s Bay, Charlize Theron (Apex), David Corenswet (Superman), Emily Blunt (Disclosure Day), Antony Starr (The Boys), Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Kaitlin Olson (High Potential) and Ralph Fiennes (28 Years Later: The Bone Temple),

The Super Awards also presented a special honor recognizing a certain outstanding performance in a horror film. Indy, the duck-trolling dog star of Good Boy, received the Best Good Boy in a Horror Movie award.

Last year, the TIFF Midnight Madness section made a big splash on the map with Focus Features’ mega $15M acquisition of Curry Barker’s Obsession which turned into the most successful film festival pick-up at the B.O. with close to half billion at the B.O., and this year the film festival is bringing back the pic for a reprise on Friday, Sept. 11.

Barker and Obsession star Inde Navarette are sitting down for a Dialogues discussion at the John Bassett Theatre.

In addition, this year’s TIFF Midnight Madness is doing a special screening of the Neon Cannes Korean sci-fi title, Hope, on Sept. 9, that Na-Hong jin directed movie already a massive hit in its home country with more than $32M at the box office.

This year’s Midnight Madness counts ten 10 late-night screenings at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, each starting at 11:59 pm comprised of not just horror but also absurdist alt-comedies and gonzo documentaries. Of the ten, there’s six world premieres across ten countries of production.
