The staff for the television anime of Ezogingitune and illustrator DeeCHA‘s I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand (Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita.) light novel series announced two more cast members on Tuesday. Miharu Hanai and Suzuna Kinoshita voice the daughters of Erik — Hanai as the older daughter Charlotte, and Kinoshita as the younger daughter Mary.

Square Enix and Comikey are releasing the novel series’ manga adaptation in English, and they describe the story:

With no other options, Luck makes the choice to hold the line against the unending demonic hordes alone, to make sure his comrades can escape with their lives. However, through a combination of fortune, skill, and ingenuity, he holds that line for ten straight years, eventually coming out on top single handedly. Now he has to tackle the dilemma of how to occupy himself in a world where he holds a myriad of roles: that of a legend, that of a veteran, and that of a brand new face.

The anime stars:

Nobuhiko Okamoto, Kōsuke Toriumi, Takehito Koyasu, Shinya Takahashi, and Satoshi Hino will voice the vampires who hold the key to the story.

Hiroyuki Kanbe (Viper’s Creed) is directing the anime at Gekkō. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) is handling the series scripts. Majiro (Macross Delta) is designing the characters. Rock-idol girl group MEISHOHIKOKAI will perform the ending theme song “Ari Kitari na Nichijō to Kōun na Hibi e” (Lucky in the Ordinary, or literally, Onwards to Ordinary and Fortunate Days).

The anime will debut on July 6. The anime’s premiere was delayed to July “to present an even more enjoyable work for everyone.” The anime was initially announced to premiere in April.

The web novel began in June 2018 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website. The light novel series’ first volume debuted in February 2019, and the eighth volume will ship on July 15. Chaco Abeno launched a manga adaptation with composition by Kitsune Tennōji on Square Enix‘s Manga UP! service in August 2019. Square Enix published the manga’s 19th compiled book volume on April 7. The novel and manga series combined has over 4.45 million copies in circulation.

Aki Sora manga creator Masahiro Itosugi lamented in a May 16 post about being banned by Google. While uploading older works to Google Drive, Itosugi reported receiving a warning from the service. The creator reported appealing the warning only to receive the ban. Itosugi added that the ban is an issue as the artist uses a Google account for several other websites and services. Itosugi concluded, “It’s not an issue for good people, but be careful if you ponder, “Am I… a good person?”

As of press time, Itosugi’s post received 25,000 likes and 449 comments. Several commenters sympathized with the creator’s dilemma. One of the first replies asked Itosugi if the artist uploaded the files without compressing them into PSG or ZIP files. Itosugi indicated the files were uncompressed and mentioned not giving any thoughts at the time about being banned. Another commenter said Japanese parents should avoid uploading photos of their children taking baths, as Google is set to “Western standards.” Itosugi agreed with this sentiment and added Google does not allow people to change the standards according to the region they live in.

Itosugi debuted as an adult manga creator in 2004, and later transitioned to non-adult manga in 2007 with the short series Mono Kuro published under Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED Comics imprint. Itosugi has subsequently published and worked on several non-adult manga series. The artist is currently working on The Cuckolding Wizard’s Adventure under Akita Shoten‘s Champion RED Comics imprint.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Governmen revised its Youth Healthy Development Ordinance to expand the number of manga and anime that could be designated as “harmful publications” in 2011, and listed Aki Sora as one of the first six titles to be considered for restrictions. Itosugi then reported that the first and third Aki Sora manga volumes would no longer be printed. As the revised ordinance does not cover non-print distribution, the manga remained available in digital releases.
