New Ghost in the Shell Anime Casts Atsushi Miyauchi – News

The official website for The Ghost in the Shell (Kōkaku Kidōtai THE GHOST IN THE SHELL) television anime from Science SARU revealed on Wednesday that Atsushi Miyauchi plays Borma:

The anime premiered on television on July 7 on “Ka-Anival!!,” Kansai TV and Fuji TV‘s new anime programming block that airs on Tuesday nights at 11:00 p.m (10:00 a.m. EDT). The anime had its global premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June with its first two episodes.

The anime began streaming on Amazon Prime Video Japan starting on July 7 at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT), right after its broadcast. The anime is also exclusively streaming simultaneously on Prime Video in over 240 countries and regions worldwide, excluding mainland China, Russia, and Vietnam.

The anime’s first two episodes also screened at Anime Expo on July 4. A panel featuring director Mokochan, character designer and animation director Shūhei Handa, and other producers was held after the screening.

Anime Limited‘s All the Anime revealed the English dub cast for the show last month.

Mokochan (storyboarder, key animator for DAN DA DAN, The Heike Story, Tatami Time Machine Blues) is making his directorial debut with the anime at Science SARU. Toh Enjoe (The Empire of Corpses novelist; Space Dandy, Godzilla Singular Point scripts) is both writing and overseeing the series scripts. Shūhei Handa (Little Witch Academia TV series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Spriggan (ONA) is designing the characters and also serving as chief animation director. Taisei Iwasaki (BELLE) is serving as music director, and is composing the music along with Ryō Konishi (Journal with Witch theme song) and Yuki Kanesaka (Dr. Stone).

Additional staff members include:

King Gnu performs the opening theme song “Go Ghost.” 

MILLENNIUM PARADE feat. Saya Gray, Daniel Caesar perform the ending theme song “Blue.”

Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Science SARU, and Production I.G are on the production committee for the series.

Bandai Namco Filmworks announced the new series in May 2024. Voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, the voice of Motoko Kusanagi in the franchise, died in August 2024 at 61 years old.

Inio Asano Spends 1 Month Creating 3D Rural Town for 1-Chapter Manga – Interest

Asano: “I haven’t completed a single page of the draft yet!”



Manga creator Inio Asano reported on Monday that he had spent a month creating a three-dimensional rural town for a manga project that is one chapter long. An X (formerly Twitter) post by Asano includes a nearly two-minute-long video highlighting the rural town. The video features a home, rest area, and rice fields. Asano added, “I haven’t completed a single page of the draft yet!”

As of press time, Asano has not formally announced what the one-shot manga project he is working on is.

Asano is arguably best known for his manga series Goodnight Punpun and Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction. Asano has been publishing Mujina Into the Deep in Shogakukan‘s Big Comic Superior magazine (with a second “season” next year).

Ryuta Amazume’s Sefure Manga Ends – News

This year’s 15th issue of Shōnengahōsha‘s Young King magazine announced on Wednesday that Ryuta Amazume‘s Sefure manga series will end in the next issue on July 27.

The “sex and romance” story centers on two “sex friends.” Although their relationship initially focuses on their bodies, they gradually start to feel something more for each other.

Amazume launched the series in Shōnengahōsha‘s Young King magazine in March 2019. Shōnengahōsha shipped the 11th compiled book volume on May 2. 

Amazume ended the Omae no Kao wo Tashikametai (Let Me See That Look on Your Face) manga on April 23. Amazume launched the series on Kodansha‘s YanMaga Web website on September 11. Kodansha shipped the second and final volume on June 19.

Amazume’s Jofū manga ended in March 2025. Amazume published a one-shot version of the manga in Hakusensha‘s Young Animal magazine in March 2021, and launched the full serialization in December 2021. Hakusensha published the manga’s seventh and final compiled book volume on May 29.

Amazume launched the Nana & Kaoru (Nana to Kaoru) manga in Hakusensha‘s Young Animal Arashi magazine in 2008, and the series switched to the main Young Animal magazine in 2009. The series ended in August 2016. FAKKU has licensed the manga. Denpa began distributing the manga starting in October 2022 in a 3-in-1 omnibus edition.

Nana to Kaoru inspired an original video anime (OVA) project and two live-action films. Amazume wrote the spinoff manga series Nana to Kaoru: Black Label that ended in 2014.

Amazume launched the Nana to Kaoru: Kōkōsei no SM Gokko (High Schoolers’ S&M Play) spinoff manga in the inaugural issue of Hakusensha‘s Harem magazine in November 2018, and ended the series in October 2021. The manga’s fifth and final volume shipped in December 2021. The manga is set during Nana and Kaoru’s third year of high school.
