Akiko Higashimura’s Live-Action Vacance no Hōsoku Series Reveals Main Trailer, Opening Song – News

ABEMA started streaming the full trailer for Vacance no Hōsoku (The Vacation Rules), a new live-action series with original concept, direction, and scripts by manga creator Akiko Higashimura (Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey, Tokyo Tarareba Girls, Princess Jellyfish), on Tuesday. The trailer announces and previews the opening theme song “I Got Your Back” by the group ILLIT.

The series centers on Midori Hoshino, who decides to take a vacation away from the bustle of her daily life, and falls in love with Hoshino, the mysterious caretaker of the vacation estate at which she is staying.

Kanna Hashimoto (live-action Kingdom, Gintama) stars in the series as Midori Hoshino, while South Korean actor Chae Jong Hyeop (Nevertheless, Castaway Diva) stars as Nishigami.

The series will premiere on the ABEMA Special channel on July 27. 18 15-minute episodes will run for free on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This is Higashimura’s first time directing and scripting a live-action series.

Higashimura’s Princess Jellyfish manga has inspired a 2010 television anime adaptation, as well as a 2014 live-action film, and a 2018 live-action series. Many of her other manga have inspired live-action adaptations as well, including Bishoku Tantei Akechi Gorō, Tokyo Tarareba Girls, Do You Remember Me? (Watashi no Koto o Oboeteimasu ka?), Himawari – Kenichi Legend, and A Fake Affair (Gisō Fūrin).

Kodansha USA Publishing released Higashimura’s Princess Jellyfish, Tokyo Tarareba Girls, and Tokyo Tarareba Girls Returns manga in English. WEBTOON published A Fake Affair in English.

Higashimura’s Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey manga inspired a live-action film that opened in May 2025. The manga won the grand prize at the Ministry of Cultural Affairs’ 19th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards and the eighth Manga Taisho award in 2015. Seven Seas Entertainment released the manga in English.

Manga ‘Studio Cabana’ Gets TV Anime in 2027

Production company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Aguri Uma‘s Studio Cabana on Wednesday, revealing the main cast, staff, and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime series will air in 2027.

Voice actress Sayumi Suzushiro (Bocchi the Rock!) is starring as the lead female character Yukari Maki.

Uma began drawing the music romance manga on the pixiv Sylph web magazine in June 2021. Kadokawa published the eighth volume in November 2025, with the ninth scheduled to be released on August 21. Studio Cabana has a cumulative 500,000 copies of its volumes in circulation.

Yen Press licensed the manga in English on May 25 and plans to release the first volume on December 15.

Studio Cabana was nominated in the Web Manga category for the 2023 Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards (Next Manga Awards).

Synopsis

Yukari Maki is a high school girl who prides herself on honesty—and she’s starting to get the feeling that she and her delinquent classmate, Yuusuke Kusaka, don’t have a single thing in common! But her straitlaced unwillingness to let him skate by in school earns her an almost chaperone-like reputation, and his apparent disdain. Yet, despite Yuusuke’s disapproval of her hovering, Yukari refuses to let a new rumor about him spread. After following Yuusuke home to discuss it, she watches him stop at a music studio. ippatu’s Shōjōhime Manga Moves to YanMaga Web on August 2 – News

Manga with new interpretation of Journey to the West story launched in December 2025

This year’s 34th issue of Kodansha‘s Young Magazine announced on Tuesday that ippatu‘s Shōjōhime (Monkey Princess) manga will move to Kodansha‘s YanMaga Web website, where it is simultaneously serialized, on August 2. The manga will also start its new arc in its next chapter.

The manga simultaneously launched in Young Magazine and on the YanMaga website in December 2025. The manga is a new interpretation of the Chinese classic Journey to the West. Kodansha published the manga’s first compiled book volume on April 6 and the second volume on July 6.

ippatu began drawing the Tsugumi Project (Tora Tsugumi) manga, and French publishser Ki-oon began releasing it as an original manga in France in 2019. Kodansha‘s Weekly Young Magazine began serializing the manga in Japan in January 2021. The manga ended in September 2023, and got an epilogue chapter. Kodansha published the manga’s seventh and final volume in November 2023. Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the manga and released the final volume in September 2025, and it shipped in France in February 2024.

Tsugumi Project is inspiring a television anime adaptation.

‘Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e – Magokoro no Duo’ Reveals Additional Cast, Teaser Trailer

The official website for the new Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e – Magokoro no Duet (Fairy Princess Minky Momo) original video anime revealed additional cast members, main visual (pictured), and a teaser trailer on Wednesday. The OVA is scheduled to open in theaters on November 13 ahead of its home video release.

Vanguard) aare designing the characters. Tomoki Hasegawa (Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru) is composing the music.

Produced by Ashi Productions, the original television anime aired in 63 episodes from March 1982 to May 1983. A second anime series aired in 62 episodes from Fall 1991 to Fall 1992.

The Minky Momo in Yume ni Kakeru Hashi (Minky Momo in the Bridge Over Dreams) original video anime was released in May 1993, followed by Yume no Naka no Rondo (La Ronde in my Dream) in July 1985, and Minky Momo in Tabidachi no Eki (Minky Momo: The Station of Your Memories) in June 1994.
