Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi Anime Reveals Japanese Voice Cast – News
The staff of Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, the limited anime series spinoff from the Star Wars: Visions project, revealed the Japanese cast on Friday.

The series will premiere on August 5 on Disney+ and Hulu.
The Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 event announced in April 2025 that the Star Wars: Visions anthology is expanding with Star Wars: Visions Presents, an opportunity to tell its animated stories in a longer narrative. “The Ninth Jedi” short is the first story to be expanded this way.
Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East) returns from the previous “The Ninth Jedi” short in the first Star Wars: Visions volume, but as the supervising director and series script supervisor on the new series. Shunsuke Tada (Kuroko’s Basketball, STARMYU, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These – Collision film) is directing the new series. Hitoshi Itō (Star Wars: Visions, Attack on Titan The Final Season) is producing, and the executive producers are Lucasfilm‘s Jacqui Lopez and Josh Rimes.

The first volume of Star Wars: Visions debuted on Disney+ in September 2021. Studios such as Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Kamikaze Douga, Science SARU, Production I.G, and Geno Studio produced the shorts.
Volume 2 of the Star Wars: Visions project debuted on Disney+ on May 4, 2023 (Star Wars Day). Unlike the first anthology, which consisted of nine shorts from Japanese creators and anime studios, the second volume features nine shorts from animation studios from around the world, including Japan, India, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Chile, France, South Africa, South Korea, and the United States.
Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 debuted on Disney+ in October 2025. The latest anthology continued the storylines of three shorts from the first volume: “The Duel,” “Village Bride,” and “The Ninth Jedi.” Separate from the limited anime series, “The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope” short tells the story of a war that has been going on since before the first short’s character Kara was born.

Udon Ent. Licenses Hiromi Matsuo’s Department Store Waltz, Rondo Manga – News
Udon Entertainment revealed at its panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday that it has licensed Hiromi Matsuo‘s Department Store Waltz (Hyakkaten Waltz) and Rondo: The Ladies’ Graphic Magazine manga.

Department Store Waltz is an all-color manga and illustration book set in an early 20th century department store in a provincial city. Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Ltd. released the book in January 2016.

Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Ltd. released Rondo: The Ladies’ Graphic Magazine in December 2022. The book is also an all-color manga and illustration book. The setting is a women’s fashion magazine titled “Rondo” that is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Additionally, Udon Entertainment revealed it has licensed the Belles Ruelles anthology manga series. The anthology series currently has four volumes, and each volume features various artists who write about shops and facilities in a fictional town called Euphemia. Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha, Ltd. released the first volume in November 2023, and released the fourth volume in December 2025.
Udon Entertainment will release the previously revealed Manga Biographies: Momofuku Ando – The Inventor of Instant Noodles from Kenji Ishikawa and Sorata Unno, and Manga Biographies: Amelia Earhart – The Amazing Pilot from Masakazu Horinouchi and Miyoko Sano, both on September 1.
Udon Entertainment also revealed it will release the 224-page hardcover Spy x Family: Animation Art Book on January 27, 2027. Wit Studio released the book in Japan in December 2023.

Udon Entertainment had revealed earlier this month it will release two artbooks from illustrator Shinkiro, who is also attending San Diego Comic-Con this week. Udon Entertainment will release both CAPCOM Masterworks: Shinkiro (264-page hardcover) and SNK Masterworks: Shinkiro (272-page hardcover) on December 1.

The company also mentioned the previously revealed Hidetaka Tenjin‘s Artistry of Gundam book at its panel on Friday. The 144-page hardcover book will ship on September 22.
Udon Entertainment will also release the 352-page hardcover The Art of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 artbook.

Though I am an Inept Villainess Anime Reveals English Dub Cast, July 26 Debut, Trailer (Updated) – News
TOHO announced on Friday that it will begin streaming the English dub for the television anime of Satsuki Nakamura‘s Though I Am an Inept Villainess (Futsutsuka na Akujo de wa Gozaimasu ga – Sūgū Chōso Torikae Den) light novel series on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. EDT on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Disney+. Seven Seas publishes both the light novels and manga under the title Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court, and describes the story:
In a kingdom inspired by historical China, five clans put forth their maidens as imperial consorts–but only one will be crowned empress. The frail and beautiful Kou Reirin, the so-called “butterfly” of the imperial court, is a shoo-in to marry the crown prince. Mitsue Yamazaki (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun) is directing the anime at Dōga Kōbō. Yoshiko Nakamura (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time; Tadaima, Okaeri; The Helpful Fox Senko-san) is overseeing the series scripts, and Ai Kikuchi (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, New Game!, Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) is designing the characters.
Singer-songwriter milet performs the opening theme song “Sunny.” Rokudenashi performs the the ending theme song “Shooting Star” (Hōkiboshi).

The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on July 12 at 11:45 p.m. Netflix will stream the anime in Asia on July 12. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian Subcontinent. Hulu is listing the series for a debut on July 12 with both English subtitles and dub.
The anime’s premiere was delayed to July due to delays in production progress. The anime was initially announced to premiere in April.
Ichijinsha launched Nakamura’s light novel series with illustrations by YukiKana in December 2020. The novels’ manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji simultaneously launched in Ichijinsha‘s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine. Ichijinsha published the light novels’ 12th volume on March 31. Seven Seas will release the light novels’ 11th volume in English on September 22, and the manga’s ninth volume on August 4.
