The staff for the third
season in the new anime based on Rumiko Takahashi‘s Ranma 1/2 manga revealed on Sunday its key visual, additional cast members, and October 3 debut.

The newly announced cast members are:

Masako Nozawa as Grand Master

Jun Fukuyama as Sentarō Daimonji

Minami Tanaka as Tsubasa Kurenai

The anime’s third season will debut on October 3 on the NTV channel at 24:55 JST (effectively October 4 at 12:55 a.m. JST). The anime will exclusively stream on Netflix right after its broadcast.

Kōnosuke Uda is again directing the anime at MAPPA. The third season will have mainly returning cast and staff members. Returning chief animation directors Yoshiko Saitō and Kōsuke Kawamura will be joined by Riko Kaneda (new anime’s first season animation director) and Haruki Miura (Ensemble Stars!, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean). Masahiro Kurio also returns as main animator with the addition of Atsuko Ishida (1989 Ranma ½ key animator) and Yoshihiro Takeda (The Devil Is a Part-Timer! seasons 2 & 3).

The anime’s first season premiered nationwide in Japan in October 2024. The anime exclusively streamed on Netflix after its broadcast.

Kōnosuke Uda (One Piece: Dead End film, DAYS) directed the first season at MAPPA. Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon, Astro Note) was in charge of series scripts, and Hiromi Taniguchi (Kurage no Shokudō) designed the characters.

The second season premiered in October 2025 on NTV. The series streamed on Netflix after the television broadcast. Most of the staff from the first season returned for the second season. However, Kōsuke Kawamura joined the staff as one of the chief animation directors, and Ryūta Hayashi joined Chihiro Ōkawa to direct the art.

Ishida, Fukuen join anime’s cast as Reiya Kiryūin’s parents

The staff for the television anime of Kureha‘s The Ogre’s Bride (Oni no Hanayome) light novel series revealed on Sunday that Akira Ishida and Misato Fukuen have been added in the anime’s cast. The new cast members’ characters appeared in the anime’s fourth episode on Saturday.

The anime premiered in Japan on the Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV channels, as well as on the d Anime Store, ABEMA, U-NEXT, and Anime Hōdai streaming services, on July 4 at 24:30 (effectively, July 5 at 12:30 a.m.) It then played on nine more channels throughout Japan and other streaming platforms. Crunchyroll streams the anime as it airs.

The novel series is set in a Japan where humans and demons co-exist peacefully. Yuzu is an ordinary high school girl, who lives in the shadow of her older sister who is the bride of a demon. One day, she has a life-changing encounter with a beautiful ogre who claims her as his bride.

Kazuhito Ōmiya is directing the anime at Colored Pencil Animation Japan. Yumi Kamakura is in charge of the series scripts. Hikari Tanaka is drawing the main character designs, and Hiroko Shigekuni is also credited for character designs. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

Additional staff members include: 

The ClariS trio are performing the anime’s opening theme song “Hitokoto” (A Word). Actor and singer Ikusaburō Yamazaki is performing the ending theme song “Shinboshi.”

Kureha began the light novel series on Starts Publishing‘s Novema! platform in 2019. The series won the grand prize at the First Novema! Character Short Story Contest. Starts published the 10th volume in December 2025. Yū Shiroya illustrates the series.

Jun Togashi launched the manga adaptation in Starts Publishing‘s Noicomi magazine in December 2021. The manga adaptation won Noicomi’s annual comic ranking in the girl comics category in 2022 and 2023. Starts shipped the 10th compiled book volume on July 10. MangaPlaza is releasing the manga in English.

The light novel series and its manga adaptation collectively have over 5.8 million copies in circulation.

The novel series also inspired a live-action film that opened on March 27. The film sold 146,000 tickets for 202,395,960 yen (about US$1.27 million) in its opening three days.

The staff for Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Star Detective Precure! The Movie: The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of 2 People) — the film for Star Detective Precure!, the 23rd main anime entry in the Precure franchise — revealed the film’s main trailer and staff members on Sunday. The video reveals the film’s ending theme song “FIRST PRISM” by Yūka Masui and Chihaya Yoshitake. The film’s staff also revealed the insert song “First Step” by Ami Ishii.

Hanako Ueda (You and Idol Precure♪, Summer Time Rendering My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON episode director) is directing the film. Yoshimi Narita (Eiga HappinessCharge PreCure! Ningyō no Kuni no Ballerina, Eiga Precure All Stars New Stage 3: Eien no Tomodachi, Eiga Tropical-Rouge! Precure: Yuki no Princess to Kiseki no Yubiwa! films) is writing the script, Erika Fukasawa (Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure♪ Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakkilive!) and Misaki Umase (You and Idol Precure♪) are composing the music, and Emiko Miyamoto (Eiga Precure All Stars F, Precure Super Stars! original character designer) is designing the characters and is also the film’s chief animation director. 

Additional staff members include art director Risa Fujii, color designer Satoshi Takezawa, compositing director of photography Takumi Arai, and production manager Hirotaka Naota.

The film will open in Japan on September 18.

The film’s story begins with the Detective Precure investigating the “X Mark Incident,” when a fairy named Rain appears and requests for the Detective Precure‘s help. Rain leads the team to a lovely garden called “Karin’s Garden,” but it is being overrun by tiny creatures called “Dame Dame.” The team investigates the “Dame Dame” creatures and discovers the secret hidden in the garden. 

Past Precure characters from You and Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure! will also appear in the film.

The Star Detective Precure! anime debuted on February 1 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and their affiliate channels at 8:30 a.m. JST. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and CIS.

The anime centers on Anna Akechi, a second year middle school student who lives in Makoto Mirai Town. She travels back in time from 2027 to 1999 when her “companion fairy” named Pochitan appears on her birthday. In 1999 Makoto Mirai Town, Anna meets Mikuru Kobayashi, another second year middle school student who dreams of becoming a great detective. The two girls witness the troubles caused by the Phantom Thieves who steal people’s precious belongings, and they transform into great Precure detectives and use their deductive reasoning skills to protect the people’s smiles.

The anime stars:

Ami Ishii performs the opening theme song “Heart ni Hint! Meitantei Precure!” (Hint In My Heart! Star Detective Precure!). Akane Kumada and Yūka Masui perform the ending theme song “Naze? Nazo?! ANSWER” (Why? Mystery?! ANSWER).
